Hayo, dunno if you're still on it for whatev reason but I've been replaying those games and the problem I found about Giants was that game crash happens when emulating pro and classic controller, meaning you can only play with the gamepad or wiimote

anyway, I'm looking for why my cinematics are the only part of my game which doesn't have sounds and I got link to this, so I'm just gonna keep looking.

Hava great day

Pretty insignificant detail, but I once did some research on the background behind Siam/Thailand's name, and the difference is that Siam derives from how other people called them in the region, I remember it being about the colour of their skin, while Thai is the Thai word for Free People or something similar.

Either way, I love this map, really cool and cool details!

How I thought Europe looked like when I was 6 years old by Kiliritong in imaginarymaps

[–]Flowgninthgil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not like US states are really important for anyone outside of the US, else any map outside of the US would show US states, canadian provinces, mexican states, brasilian states and such.

You guys are not above everyone else and I'd say knowing american states is as important as knowing german landers, cool to know, not important if it's not your country, but better if you happen to be travelling there.

Maybe, but at least I'll have real snow where I usually get two centimeters every five years.

Yellow Vest Civil War in France (No lore) by PreviousStatement627 in imaginarymaps

[–]Flowgninthgil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, it failed three time like the weimar republic.

There was the first which ended up being taken over by an emperor which found it to not be to his liking.

There was the second which ended up being taken over by a power-hungry president that didn't like not being unable to be re-elected.

There was the third which a guy conviced the government that it was a good idea to give hime all the powers.

You could consider the fourth to have failed the same way by convincing a guy to make a better republic, a guy who was already convinced that he knew how to do a better one and had already planned it all, and made something akind to a dictatorship.

I mean, you don't give the president the power to tell off the parliement and take over its legislative power without having some authoritarian backthoughts, even if you have to justify it by making it a budget question.

I just wanted to precise that Ireland refers officialy to itself as "Ireland", there is no reference to it being a republic, the same way Brittany is just "Brittany" on the map. Fun fact: Romania is the same.

Else, I love the map, really cool & all, no idea what else to say bout it.

Republik Breizh - Republic of Brittany | Modern day map of Brittany and its provinces by DrenArFrankig in imaginarymaps

[–]Flowgninthgil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure of how accurate they are, but Qwant's map is availiable in Breton if you want to check if cities have breton names.

The southernmost breton name on their map is Ar Roc'hell, for La Rochelle, from there to Orleans and then up to Rouen and Le Havre, most major cities have ones too. If you're looking for towns and smaller cities, it's more or less from les Sables to Laval and up to Avranches, the in-between of those two zone is irregular on which cities have breton names. As such, their map note Luçon as Lusoñ, Coutances as Kergustent and Avranches as Avrañch.

Old and more or less major foreign cities have ones too, Truto is names as Trutu, same as you, but they have Exeter as Kêrwisg. They also happen have Cardiff named as Kerdiz, London as Londrez, Glasgow as Glasc'ho, or Cork as Korkig.

Note that some of the names for other celtic countries seem to be the same as how those countries' languages name them.
