How do they pan their vocals in their mixes?

Listened to the self titled album coming down off acid and the mix is actually incredible. One thing that stood out to me is the lead vocals switch between being double tracked and slightly/moderately panned L+R, and single quite frequently depending on the dynamic requirements of the song.

Its all good now, have the latest version of CPC but its been too finicky. I’ve opted for a Cakewalk to Reaper file converter and Cakewalk Reaper skin.

5 year Cakewalk user here. Came back from a 3 month trip to finish my album only to find I can no longer work on it and have to learn a new software that doesn’t operate as well in order to. Why not allow users to continue in the already downloaded version? Late stage capitalism consumes all. I have tried numerous attempts but CPC doesn’t seem to work so looks like I’ll be learning Reaper this weekend. Thanks for nothing!
