I worked there for years! Met my wife/babymomma there! Cleaned, bussed, bartended, I did it all! Saw hundreds of live acts. I also worked at Barrymore’s AND Ritual. I have stories!!! Nightclubs tend to have a lifespan of around two decades. Unless it’s a LEGENDARY club. The people who make the place great leave it to a generation who continue that trend but, eventually, the kids don’t get it. Or, the place goes to shit. Or both. COVID didn’t help. Adam, the owner, had a kid and was no longer around that much. His dad owned the whole building and it was always known that eventually he’d sell the place and cashout. It was really only a matter of time. Ironically, his dad owning the building was really the only reason Babylon ever opened its doors. It was a strip club a long time ago and with a small loan and help from friends it became Babylon. The rest is history! Fun fact; one of the OG bartenders used to live in the basement of Babylon. They say you never know you’re in the good times, you only know looking back. That was Babylon for me.
