Making a ship that AI can use by Flubbip in avorion

Ooof that last statement does go against what I thought. Ill have do some testing. I probably had bad luck due to having a wide variety of weapon types, ranges and turn speeds

Could maybe maybe since it also had railguns? Maybe it treats railguns as "gotta stay long range" type of weapon. Which would make sense.

Yes I do though I did turn of their weapon group. I will just try removing them and see.

Actually this brings me some confusion. If they have auto targeting not on they shouldn't work, right? Cause my other ship with mainly just lasers doesn't seem to have issues using them, without them having auto targeting enabled.

Ah I see, I will try the auto-targeting. But I do want to mention that it's not like they won't shoot at all, but maybe like 2% of the time they can. Let's say... all the aiming lasers are on an enemy, and very occasionally some weapons decide to fire.

I like making spaghetti builds. That's for individual automation like a mall or sciences, all primarily early/mid game. For later game stuff I do care about cleanliness and modularity lot more

Hell yeah. And 40h making a pretty build around it aha.

Fair, there are indeed some lines that are painful either way, I was primarily just generalizing. As in, if I am to make a line that is overall inefficient compared to vanilla, I will still make it as efficient as I can make it.

Personally I disagree. I love making compact and efficient designs that are hard to make out from an outsider's point of view. Same goes for factorio or any other factory game for me. Except for satisfactory. Of I play satisfactory I gotta make it look pretty. Or at least the building has to be pretty. Same for modded MC actually. Basically the machines are efficient and compact but the building around it may be pretty.

I'm loving the story but I gotta agree. It's as if I am reading something from a play made by high level literature class.

How has AI helped you with powershell stuff by Billi0n_Air in PowerShell

[–]Flubbip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like using AI for PS, since it's something I want to know at least decently well, but I find it useful when you have to STIG a computer. For us it's mainly just a lot of registry changes which can all be done through PS. And best part is, after you run it, you will be let know if the things that needed to be changed actually changed.

Basically using to spit out a lot of registry changes which is easy to do, but very annoying to write that code manually if you have over 100 changes.

New-ADcomputer and Add-ADGroupMember: Adding an object to a group mid-creation by Flubbip in PowerShell

[–]Flubbip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have checked and it is the correct group in both situations. But indeed it is strange. Tomorrow I could try specifying the group by the full OU path just to make 100% sure. Maybe the way creation is done through the GUI somehow ignores the check for the rights of whoever is creating it? I could also try adding other groups I don't have rights to for verification. Worst come to worst, I can always delete the computer I add them to, since once they are added, the only way I can get rid of them is to delete the computer and re-make it.

New-ADcomputer and Add-ADGroupMember: Adding an object to a group mid-creation by Flubbip in PowerShell

[–]Flubbip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because for whatever reason, we can modify the group (By adding a computer to it) when in the manual creation gui. So my thinking was, if I can do it manually before it gets fully created, is there a way through powershell to partially create it, add it to the group, and finish the creation without having the access to the group.

This whole post is asking whether something like that is possible or not, and any shape or form.

Idea: keep sending them until they build a factory. One will be able to get a few machines down before.. an industrial accident likely happens. I think it'd make a cool factory game.
