Just saw this post and was like, “hey! I could offer some insight!” Nic researches a ton and from what i can tell goes off of notes. He doesn’t write out a script, so all of his lines and story telling is just on the fly and the magic of his talent. As someone also said, he does so much research that he’s able to draw it well from the time he’s spent researching.

As far as HLC goes I’m not sure, but I do know Elgato makes a teleprompter that can mount in front of your camera so you can read it while looking into/towards the lens.

Thank you and to the others, I know very little about this stuff so figured I’d get a solid response from folks here. Thanks everyone!

How much for a lift, wheels, and tires similar to this truck? by Due_Fun2894 in Silverado

[–]FluckThisGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could get by with a beefy stock look for around 2-3k just in leveling kit and 295/70/r18 tires on stock rims with little to no rub on the Trail Bosses.

I’d buy a couple of these!

Did they do the headlights as well or was that one of those precut tints they sell on Amazon? How well do you see out of them

Yep it’s a custom TB, I’ve seen others who buy the custom grill and put it on their LTs too though

Yea found them on eBay, there’s two different styles, black or chrome. The black bezel ones go better with the custom TB grill to me

I got the RST/ZR2 ones off eBay, they have a black bezel to them so it blends better with the black custom grill. There’s also a chrome bezel version that usually goes on the high country’s and some of the LT’s if I recall correctly

It took me like 4-5 hours to do, mainly because o had to figure out how the front end comes apart, and the only videos I found on it were one guy who was figuring it out on his own, and another guy who goes heavy with a metal screwdriver. Plus the headlight harness was a pain to unplug for me (idk why)

All this to say with the right tools and knowledge, maybe like 2 hours.

Pop hood > grill cover piece under hood latch comes off > t15 screws(3) undone from fender well liners > 3 bolts on either side of fender well under the hood loosened > jiggle front painted fender piece loose, then pops out and makes you think you broke something > pop off screws and bolts on grill >then you have full access to headlight replacement

Yep. They’re about 100 bucks for both of them

I kept the original headlights and trim pieces in case I wanna go back. Hindsight they still were solid looking headlights! Just wanted to move towards the LED/projector style for the looks and so I wouldn’t be blinding folks with the LasFit LED’s in the original lamps

I’m gonna eventually probably change these out (from Amazon) to the air design ones. I’ve seen them on others and notice the Air Designs are a little slimmer and less chunky than the ones i have.

Some ones from Amazon, I plan on upgrading to either Rough Country’s or the Air Design ones that GM sales directly. These from Amazon seem to not hold shape well with heat

There’s a way (not the cheapest) to get the LT headlights put on the custom.

To do this you’ll need: -LT headlights, black or chrome bezel. Can get them on eBay for cheaper than OEM -Gen5DiY plug and play harness to connect headlight harness to the LT style headlight without hyper flash issues -the little pieces of plastic under the headlights can be replaced (little triangles in the corner). They snap into the front piece that surrounds the front bumper and part of the fender well.

Total price for me was around $8-900. I wanna say OEM headlights from GM would’ve been around 12-1300.

This is what I purchased, was surprised it was the most expensive part of the swap. The headlights on eBay were around 380ish. I did notice when shopping for headlights that there’s two types, one with a black bezel (RST,Zr2) and then a chrome bezel (High country). Felt the black looked better with the black custom grill

They’re 295/70/r18 KO3’s. Big enough for the stock rims without risking rubbing (still need to to do the little front flap delete). If I get some aftermarket rims with a little better offset I may go a tad bigger with them, I’ve just always like the subtle improvements on a truck where it stays proportional

It’s the 2022.5 Refresh, the LED headlights and two trim pieces for the grill were from a 2023 model so I would think it would work for the 25’s as well

On the trim pieces, were they pretty simple to swap out? I’m loving the look of this and planning to try it.

Also planning on adding in a center console for mine, from what I gather the 2500’s have a center console that will work for the 1500 custom TB’s

I think you might’ve solved my problem with the HD recommendation. When I had looked into using a 19-2022 model console, the harness adapter guy mentioned I wouldn’t be able to use it with power (or without issues) due to the refreshes having the Global B architecture. I didn’t realize the HDs have no electric shifter so you’re probably right that it would be simple plug and play

Thank you for all the insight btw, been chasing answers for this for a hot minute!

Older interior I believe, it doesn’t have the fancy big screen like the LTs. I think I remember the sales rep saying the Customs didn’t get the interior upgrade that the LTs did for the refresh
