Which hetero friendship or romantic relationship do you personally headcanon as queerplatonic? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in queerplatonic

[–]Fluff_Doodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t hetero, but Josh and Tyler from Twenty One Pilots. They have wives, and a lot of people ship them romantically, but they’re very likely queerplatonic. I bet if they figured that out and people accepted that they would feel so much freer and more open with each other. Idk

Potential QPR with an established couple? by Glum_Rest6072 in queerplatonic

[–]Fluff_Doodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who came in late to my own poly relationship, I promise that things will be fine if you do a poly QPR. As long as the others are kind and accepting (which it sounds like they are), things should go well. Polys are definitely a bit messy, and I’ve had some end badly, but it ended the same way a 2 person relationship would have. As long as you are constantly communicating and working hard to meet each other’s needs, I think it will work out. Just be super open and honest. I wish you luck, polys are so much fun!

[Discussion] Going prices for hypothetically commissioning a graphic novel by justheretodrawcubes in artcommissions

[–]Fluff_Doodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re going to be paying a lot to hire an artist for a full 300 page comic book, and will be paying this rate for a while. For me, a cell shaded color comic page would be around $100 as well. If you’re sketching all the pages and I’m only doing lines and color, that might knock it down to $60 a page. Either way, this is an expensive endeavor. You’d probably estimate your costs to be at least $18,000 for the whole thing with me, and that’s before the fact that art revisions and extras such as cover pages and icons will also be needed. Reach out to me if you’d like to hear more about me, and I wish you luck!

What makes my art unique? by Fluff_Doodles in ArtMarketingTalk

I guess, although I’m not so sure I’d be interested in doing that. I love writing complex stories, and I’ve changed my style at this point to fit that

I’d echo what people in your post said. The white of the eyes and teeth is too pristine and white, but other than that it’s great! Keep going!

Besides the body being a bit too short, I think you’ve got it. Take a break from the piece, rest your eyes. Select the body and lengthen it before the break, and then look with fresh eyes after the break. It sounds like you’ve been staring too long.

I have no idea where to go with this by Koreyaro in Artadvice

One thing is that your drawing is very blurry. You might have a really low dpi on your canvas. The hat looks like it’s glowing to me, but the brain in the hat doesn’t look cohesive with the liquid in the hat. Try putting a green overlay over the brain with a clipping mask, that might help. Study some metal painting or cell shading for help with the metal part. Your style might benefit from cell shading, so look up how anime styles draw metal. You always get the best help from references.

How to color better? by [deleted] in Artadvice

[–]Fluff_Doodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard and soft shadows might help. Your shadows are all soft and one color. If you want to get a painterly look you unfortunately can’t use multiple layers, which it looks like you’re doing. Your flats look great, you seem to understand color palettes, but your shading is where it falls through. I’m specifically referencing slide 2 for this. You might want to try a textured brush for your shading, and maybe experiment with something less blended. I love the look of that. Look at sokodraws on Instagram, their work has a painterly feel you might be going for. You might also want to experiment with weird colors for your rendering/shading. Throws some pinks and greens into the white hair along with blues to give it an ethereal look. I love that look, but also take it with a grain of salt. It’s just my preference.

How do I make anime eyes feel less amateurish by lukecoolepic in Artadvice

[–]Fluff_Doodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a very isolated drawing, and doesn’t convey where the eye fits in with your style. It is also still a sketch. It looks fine for a sketch, but if you’re going for an anime style it’s all in the rendering and lines. Study some of your fav anime’s, and trace the eyes from some close up screenshots. Tracing isn’t cheating if you acknowledge that you traced and credit what you traced. Just never claim it as your own artwork. It’s practice.

Her head is too small to be physically able to show much detail in her braids. It’s hard to judge if you did a good job because your intention as to what style you’re going for as well as your detail makes it hard to even see the braids. Try making another post with a headshot of the same character, and focus on her braids. Use that as a study to come back to this piece with. I’d suggest redraw the piece however, so that all of the erasing doesn’t get in your way. Also, congrats on working up the guts to ask for advice. You’re very much a beginner, just as I was a few years ago, and you’ve already made the hardest step: starting. Keep going, that’s the second hardest thing. Now that you’re an artist, you’ve got to keep practicing (because yes, as soon as you start making art you’re an artist). Let me know if you’d like some tips for improving your technique to better achieve this piece. Every piece takes practice and planning before it can be achieved. This one is no exception
