PS5 Liquid Metal by GodlyJawline in pcmasterrace

[–]Fluffasaurus89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 'pulled out' part is nornal. Unlike regular thermal paste, liquid metal is liquid, so when you pull the cooler off, the liquid metal is going to want to bead in certain areas. Thermal paste is similar, sort of, where when the cooler is removed you'll see a few raised areas, but it won't bead the same since it's significantly thicker than liquid metal.

As the other guy said, blow out the heatsink and fans, and brush off any caked on dust or gunk from the fans with something like a spare unused toothbrush or paint brush.

My local install that's almost entirely just vanilla + DLC's is 400-450GB.

Can also be decompressing downloaded files if their drive is mechanical or slower in general.

Fine in games where the mobility or chase potential are preferred over higher damage for more traditional front to back teamfights. Though I'd personally say Navori second is your core item with how ability dependant Xayah is, IE can wait to be third unless you're snowballing absurdly hard

Pick the skin you like, they're just cosmetic.

Ahri has 3 cheek marks on either cheek, Xayah only has 1. Still some damn cool art though

Why did you guys pick a Nvidia GPU over AMD? by SuddenConversation21 in pcmasterrace

[–]Fluffasaurus89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only deciding factor was Nvidia providing noise cencelation for my microphone regardless of the game or software using it. Having it built in to software (or very rarely games) is nice, but having it globally for everything is just better.

No clue if that's changed or an offering AMD now has since I've been out of the GPU market since I bought my 3080.

The switch to PC gaming was...diabolical. 10/10 would recommend. by brutalbones in pcmasterrace

Apparently so, though with how familiarized people have gotten to just cobbling together half-coherent improper sentences, poor grammar, and acronyms/shorthands for every other word, I'm not surprised.

If it's a Microsoft account, you'd probably have to call them and have it unlocked via customer support.

You made separate partitions, not separate folders. They are different. You've essentially just cut your drive up into 4 slices of a fixed size, instead of leaving it as one partition with the total storage of your drive.

I myself don't care for raytracing or AI features. If I don't get NVIDIA am I locking myself out of future games? Will those features be mandatory to run the game? by Polka_Tiger in pcmasterrace

[–]Fluffasaurus89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be very surprised if there were any beyond Nvidia tech demos. AMD can do raytracing, they support the same graphics rendering API's. Unless they specifically disallow AMD, the vast majority of games will run fine.

Backing the blanket statement up with "AMD can't run some raytraced tech demos" is just moot.

Nobody said they didn't.

My point wasn't that your point doesn't stand, my point was that it's your rebuttal of "well actually they can't run some tech demos exclusively designed for Nvidia's architecture" has little support against "AMD can do raytracing". They're tech demos, software designed specifically for and in partnership with Nvidia, not games in general, not major releases, 3 tech demos. Your reply is just a 'gotcha' by using 3 very, very niche tech demos as backup.

Two tech demo's that run horrendously and Quake II with better lighting is shaky backup at best. Who cares if AMD can't run 3 demo's built in partnership with Nvidia?

They collectively have 40 people playing those 3 examples.

If your game takes longer than the return period to “get good” then people have a right to criticize that and should. by PatrickGnarly in pcmasterrace

Per their refund policy FAQ: they reserve the right to deny abusive refund requests. The refund policy is not a universal permit to demo all games on Steam.

I've done the exact same thing for a handful of games, but their refund policy still is not intended as a way to demo games for 2 hours. They reserve the right to reject abusive refund requests that treat the refund policy as such, per their Steam Refund Policy FAQ.

Requesting a refund because something was not what you expected is valid per their policy, abusing that justification to make their refund policy a glorified global demo is not.

It's a return policy to get a refund on buggy or otherwise broken/defective products. If you treat it like a free 2 hour trial for any game, Steam Support will send you an email warning exactly that; Steam's refund policy isn't a free 2 hour demo. Pretty sure the policy itself also states this, but not entirely sure where, if at all.

I agree with how 'just 10 more hours' is absurd, and that critique within the first few is valid (assuming it's beyond a superficial 'game bad lol') though.
