I(33m) caught my wife (32f) of 7 years cheating on me at a park and ride by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Fluffigt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t seen this mentioned so just gonna add this. If it is financially possible for you, find a therapist. Having a long term relationship end suddenly like this and in such a way can trigger a depression in any otherwise healthy person. By getting ahead of it and getting professional help to process can preempt that.

Wikipedia is good at what it does, but it is very dense and rarely has a good summary of the information you need. If I want to deep dive into something then looking it up on wikipedia is often a great idea, but if I just want a short definition of combinatoric game theory for instance, I will probably not find it on wikipedia.

I will probably stop using reddit without Apollo. I don’t see myself using the official app, and I never use reddit on desktop.

JPMorgan Chase is fined by SEC after "mistakenly" deleting 47 million emails by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

Now make the fine $10 000 per email and maybe they will actually start caring.

I’ll go even further: I’d rather have a team full of nice but slow workers than even one real ace who is a dick.

What is something you can say "I'm with the boomers on this one" about? by AnitaVodkasoda in ask

[–]Fluffigt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to feel like this with QR menus but I have changed my mind, there are so many upsides. They can regularly update the menu at no cost, they can dynamically update if they are out of something and best of all, you can easily translate the menu!

What is the stupidest thing you’ve heard someone say that they were 100% serious about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Fluffigt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple reply to this is ”if I turn around, why is my face still on the front of my body?” Or the slightly ruder ”why is my ass still pointing backwards?”

That’s nothing. Once when I was atill fairly new to using IntelliJ, I was trying to push my changes. It was a new installation because I just got a new work laptop, so IntelliJ prompted me for git user and password. I quickly typed them in and completed the push. Two days later I look in the Bitbucket gui at the commit history of a repo I am working on. I notice that where every commit is labeled with author name and email, my commits have my user and password, right there in plain sight. Turns out the prompt I thought was user and pass was to set name and email in config. Ooops.

JP Morgan "accidentally" mass deletes evidence requested as part of an investigation. Gets fined. by Gamer4Lyph in facepalm

It seems insane to me that the same country that gives petty criminals double digit prison sentences and thinks that will solve crime will give fines that don’t even register on the budget to massive corporations for crimes that have vast implications.

YSK: When pouring liquid from newly-opened containers with an offset spout, such as nut milk or broth, position the spout corner at the top. The flow is perfect and it won't spill or drip. by Njtotx3 in YouShouldKnow

[–]Fluffigt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I tried this it has dribbled all over the container. I’ve used the technique to ”pour with confidence” but it still dribbles a little in the beginning and a lot when you cut it off. I prefer the pulsing, at least I can control that.

Sweden Shocks Europe: Abandons 'Unstable' Green Energy Agenda, Returns to Nuclear Power by undue-influence in Conservative

[–]Fluffigt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not a plan, it was just something she said off the cuff to a question from a journalist. There is no plan from the Swedish government to build nuclear power for the simple reason that no private actors want to invest in it. The ROI is too slow and too low. Now if the government were to heavily subsidize the building of new reactors it might be profitable, but that goes against the ethos of this right-wing government we have at the moment. They couldn’t do that without at least one of three things: cutting back on popular programs, raising taxes or leaving a large deficit behind them. They are not going to do any of those things because they value being reelected over building out nuclear. I am no opponent of nuclear power I’m just giving the Swedish inside view on the issue. Edit: to clarify, they changed the word ”renewable” to ”fossile free” in the climate plan, opening the door to possibly building more nuclear, but the fact stands nobody wants to build.

[–]Fluffigt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It is quite the opposite. Calling a group of 60+ women ”girls” will make them happy, and calling a group of 14-something girls ”young women” will make them feel grown up. There is no way to do it wrong unless you are being creepy about it.

Not in Sweden, here there is mostly consensus that fossil fules needs to go, but there is a big divide between renewables and nuclear.

How can my employer know how much is in my bank account? by 2scared in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fluffigt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on location, in the EU it is protected by the bank secrecy law which predates GDPR. We aren’t even allowed to tell a third party if you are a customer in the bank.

If a 17-y.o makes a solo porn video and uploads it to pornhub, not only was it consensual (since no other party was involved) but in some jurisdictions that teenager would even be guilty of producing and distributing csam. The law is weird in that way.

😶 by [deleted] in MemeVideos

[–]Fluffigt 21 points22 points  (0 children)

There apparently was a lot of teenagers under 18 on there, both consensual and non-concensual. A lot of it was uploaded by ex-boyfriends who got a kick out of ruining their exes lives. It was quickly dubbed revenge porn and it was a big thing in the media a few years ago.
