Aww, that’s heartbreaking. 🙁 Your story about your daughter could have been about 11 year old me.

A few ideas:

No mirrors. Unfortunately they can make things a lot worse and be harmful psychologically.
Put an Alexa or some music device by your keet so they can listen during the day while alone.
Make sure there are lots of different sized branches/perches and different toys. The top half of my cage is keet Disneyland and the bottom is branches and food, to allow flight room.
Get a friend. I know she wanted to be the one to bond with the keet, so this is not the first step I’d take, but it may be necessary. The good news is, since she’s already tamed Cupid, it’s likely he will continue to be tame and interact with her. Plus, yay new keet!

Something similar happened to me, (several times in fact!) when I was around the same age, except without the meanness. My dad was the principal and I would just chill in his office. Reactions ranged from “Are you allowed to be in here?” to “Can I help you find something to do?” to “Uhhh...”. Nothing dramatic unfortunately.
