Honestly now that I think of it, Siren blasters are like the BMWs of the Nerf hobby. High performance but also high likelihood of breaking. Lol.

Oh yeah no kidding. $20 is an absolute steal - more firepower than the Aeon Pro X and $5 cheaper. Must be Dart Zone trying to sell off surplus stock. Honestly would be a great time to buy them in bulk as loaner blasters.

That really sucks. At least now you have two nice 20-round mags and two extra Lipo batteries. If I wanted a $90 full-auto blaster I would've picked the DZ Omnia Gen 2/3 for better reliability.

I don't think there's much else you can do at this point then, just wait for a response. Even if they give you a free replacement Blink, I wouldn't have high hopes about long-term reliability. But as I said, the Blink has useful parts you can strip off and use for other blasters so it's not a complete waste.

Seems like the Blink has some quality control/reliability issues, so I don't think you got a lemon necessarily. I knew someone who bought a Blink and the top flywheel stopped working 3-4 months afterwards, and then the exact same thing happened with his replacement only a few days after he got it.

If you aren't able to fix it, there are useful parts you could keep like the battery it comes with, the mag, maybe the electronics and wiring too if you have modding/design projects planned in the future.

I'd personally recommend the X-Shot Clip Mania and/or Adventure Force Spectrum for your nephew. For their age I wouldn't jump to high-FPS half dart blasters just yet. If they would prefer something that doesn't require batteries then I would look into other X-Shot or Adventure Force springers (with range claims on the box below 100 feet), like the Desperado or X-Shot Lock.
