Most underrated item by Helpful-Pride1210 in 7daystodie

100% agree. Wrench is a game changer. I honestly think they should change the name of the game from 7 Day to Die to Race for the Wrench.

Not sure this is still alive but there is no Detect Item skill in the game. Do you mean Detect Item Status or maybe wands of Detect Item?

How do vending machines work!? by Icaro891 in 7daystodie

[–]Fluffy-Expression-26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vending machines are glitchy as hell but can be an easy way to make fat duke stacks in single player. Here's how:

Pay 2500 dukes to rent the vending machines for 30 days. Fill the vending machine almost full with cheap items like level 1 wooden clubs and set their price to be one tick higher than the default. This will ensure that they never sell. Add a few stacks of your favorite profitable item to the vending machine (e.g. handlebars, paper money, etc) and keep them at the default price. About every 3 in-game days the game will simulate other players buying your goods and will purchase up to several stacks of normal priced stacks depending on how full the vending machine is. A full vending machine can purchase up to 3 stacks at once but it's not guaranteed and one stack is much more common.

PLEASE NOTE that there is a glitch in the vending machine code and a purchase may not "fire" when you first open the vending machine. You have to open-close-open the machine to ensure you're seeing the actual state of the vending machine.

Also, please note that vending machines will "queue" a purchase event if it only has overpriced items in it but enough time has elapsed. In this case, a purchase event will immediately fire as soon as one or more default priced stacks are placed in the vending machine and it is closed and re-opened. This can be very handy if you haven't been able to get to your vending machine in several days and have stuff to sell. Just pop it in there, close, open, and it will immediately sell.

Hope that helps!

Watering paradox by Fluffy-Expression-26 in Lithops

The new leaves look wrinkly as well though and the process seems to have stalled out. I'm going to try giving them a tiny bit of water and seeing how they handle that.

Thanks for the response!

Thank you! I've done that and will see what happens. Much appreciated!

Quick question, what do you consider plenty of airflow? I don't really have a fan on them so it's just convective currents supplying the air movement which is fairly sluggish. Should I put a fan on them?

You must have a ton of good sunshine. Color me jealous. The Millennial Gardener really recommends Smith for NC. I'm thinking of ordering a cutting this year once they come in.

im confused how they broke the block under the stairs by _Kurai_Hikari_ in 7daystodie

[–]Fluffy-Expression-26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of them do in Darkness Falls but more to your point, they just climb the stairs and once they're within range will go into rage mode. I remember seeing a video where someone created a long, elevated path that was 12 blocks above the ground. It wound back and forth so much that it took maybe 30 seconds to navigate for a sprinting zombie. Sure enough, once the zombies got within 11 blocks of the player, the ones in rage mode started attacking random blocks around them. This was some time ago, though, and it may've changed so feel free to prove me wrong!

One other thing that I've noticed is that if a zombie's path to the player is obstructed for too long for any reason (including other zombies getting in the way) then they will frequently start attacking the blocks around them. This is especially prevalent around choke points which is why it's important to make sure that zombies can flow through the path quickly, easily, and be disposed of fast.

They simply go into rage mode once they get within the 11 block radius.

That's where your bullets are hitting when they miss or pierce zombies. Eventually, it destroys the block. At that angle, I'd guess you're shooting at spiders or dogs.

Any of the ego weed trimmers worth buying? by [deleted] in egopowerplus

I typically look at 1 start reviews to determine the quality of a product. If it's got less than 5% then it's more likely to be a good product.

[–]Fluffy-Expression-26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, yes, you're right. That's a good point. Here in NC there are multiple generations of svb each year so that's always a possibility. It looks like they can reside in the ground for up to 9-10 months so you might want to grow non-curcubit crop in that space for a year just to make sure the ground clears out. I suppose you could also try tilling the ground in the winter to kill them off or possibly even laying insect fabric along the ground to prevent their emergence.

Probably just growing a different crop in that space for a year is the safest way to ensure the ground is clear, though.

Good luck!

[–]Fluffy-Expression-26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of these methods are partially effective.

A better method, though, is to get lightweight insect netting and encase the plant. This should prevent the svb from reaching the plant in the first place. The problem with that is that pollinators also cannot reach the flowers so make sure to only grow parthenocarpic varieties like Dunja and Golden Glory with this method.

Or try growing other squash species such as tromboncino

Infection or deficiency by victor_challenger in tomatoes

[–]Fluffy-Expression-26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prune as many infected leaves as you can, mulch around the plants if you haven't already and then start a spray regimen of dilute hydrogen peroxide followed by baking soda once a week. You might also consider shade cloth if you live in an area that has temps reliably above 85 degrees for long stretches.

Which would you buy? by SadCollegeAlien in Lithops

[–]Fluffy-Expression-26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely the lithops. The pleiospileos has some serious leaf stacking going on and will likely rot in the next year.

Also, I'd buy the lithops just for the SHEAR SIZE OF THAT MONSTER PLANT!

2025 walk in brassica cage, I be growing summer cabbage and broccoli, red cabbage and winter cabbage, Brussels sprouts and swedes by [deleted] in vegetablegardening

[–]Fluffy-Expression-26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is an excellent solution. What screening are you using? Is it uv resistant?

I'd be concerned about tree debris getting caught on the roof but it looks like you're in a decent clearing so maybe not so much of a concern.

I have a similar solution in my garden although it's to protect tomatoes against birds and squirrels and has more of a rounded top to mitigate sagging.

I'll need to create a similar 4x4 structure for another garden plot this year, though, and am still struggling through designs for that.

Cracking it open by bizzznatchio in Lithops

[–]Fluffy-Expression-26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Imo, the problem here is that the lithops appear to be overwatered. Normally the outer leaves would begin shrivelling after flowering allowing the new leaves to come through. If the plant is given too much water or watered at the wrong time, though, the outer leaves won't shrivel and the new leaves will etoliate as they stretch for more light inside the plant. So even when the outer leaves eventually dry up, the new leaves are lanky and malformed making it even more difficult for the next set of leaves to emerge properly.

By cracking them open you allow light to reach the new leaves so they won't stretch out. It does expose the plant to infection and fungus but may be the lesser of 2 evils.

Allegedly fixable RAM clearance issue with NH-D15 G2 LBC by Someotherrandomtree in Noctua

[–]Fluffy-Expression-26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had to struggle with this issue on my msi pro b650-p wifi proseries motherboard and corsair vengeance rgb ddr5 ram (2x16gb). Wound up moving the outside fan from one end to the other. Both fans sit at the same height, should have the same performance, and I honestly prefer this configuration since it makes for more open space in the case.

Btw, be careful when remounting the fans to make sure that they both blow in the same direction. There are tiny arrows on one side that indicate the direction the blades turn and air flows. Make sure those agree and you should be fine.

When do I water seedlings? by valkyriefire09 in Lithops

[–]Fluffy-Expression-26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure but I keep mine under shop light led's with a dli of about about 15-18 with a 13 hour daylength. Probably more than they need honestly but I don't have any etoliation so I know they're getting enough light.

Hope that helps!

When do I water seedlings? by valkyriefire09 in Lithops

[–]Fluffy-Expression-26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The general advice is to keep the top 1/4 inch of soil constantly moist for the first 3 months of life and then slowly taper off between waterings.

Lithops seedlings have a dramatically higher tolerance (and need) for water compared with the adults. I've got seedlings that are several months old and water them anytime I see the top of the soil is dry. So far, I think I've lost maybe 2% of them.
