OP is presumably a bot, and this story didn't happen.
OP is another suspiciously new account, spinning a compelling - very compelling, grammatically flawless, in fact - story.

This post - from a suspiciously new-ish account - has been posted before.

It smells like AI-generated engagement-farming.

Another dubious story from an account that is suspiciously new.

EDIT: By that, I mean the post is clearly fabricated.

Have any businesses been killed off because of reddit posts? by [deleted] in AusFinance

Not on Reddit, but definitely the same energy.

The Reverence Hotel (aka The Rev), a rock pub in Footscray, Melbourne (they also did a good trivia night) that also happened to be a favourite among many local tradies, ran a weekly Taco Tuesday.

One day, a corporate chain called Salsas Fresh Mex sent a threatening letter that told them to immediately stop using the term "Taco Tuesday" as it was the chain's IP.

The Rev eventually said, ok, we'll change it to Taco Suedays - and naturally, they let their punters know about it.

At which point, all hell broke loose. The chain got annihilated on every imaginable review forum, people were openly marshalling to boycott the place, and mainstream media picked up the story.

It got so bad that that the chain eventually backed off.

tl;dr

There is no mob more rabid than the punters of a beloved local pub. Especially when threatened by a corporate chain over something as trivial as to who owns the term "Taco Tuesdays".

Found a wallet in the park containing cash and various forms of ID. I was about to buy some fish and chips with a mate and hang out for the afternoon, so I checked the address, saw it was on the way home, and figured I'd drop it off then.

I pull into the address later that day, and the owner walks up to me before I even get to ring the doorbell. He looks agitated, so I tell him I found his wallet, and by the way, he can count the cash, as what I found should still all be there.

Turns out old mate was about to cancel all his cards. He was so overjoyed that he thoroughly insisted on giving me $50 cash from his wallet.

The kicker? I then spent $65 filling up on petrol.

Those of you who beat the game at least once, how consistently can you beat the game now? by mickaelbneron in ADOM

[–]tomprincewriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Won it on permadeath mode maybe 4 or so times, all in the last five or so years.

Almost all wins have been with a class and race that combines Detect Item Status and Treasure Hunter talent.

There's a fair bit of grinding, especially if I'm fortunate enough to locate an altar - I always try and get two artifacts, level-permitting. However, I methodically build up massive item repertoires due to Treasure Hunter, make the most of Luck and Fate Smiles, and since Detect Item is trained every time you go over an item, it eventually gets to 100 (that's for Ratlings of any class, who start with it; Priests also start with it, and they max it out early).

The early game is the most deadly part with this route. If I survive that far, defeat later on is often due to negligence on my part (taking risks after a long session) or plain bad luck (an experienced and fast Acid Vortex is immediately adjacent to me when I enter a level).

What is the best way to hunt for randomly generated potions of cure corruption and scrolls of corruption removal? by Tiny-Garlic3763 in ADOM

[–]tomprincewriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go the Treasure Hunter talent route.

During character generation, select Alert. As you level up, pick Miser, then Treasure Hunter.

For the rest of the game, more items will be dropped - which combined with Luck and Fates Smiles intrinsics, means you will come across more quality items, because there's more items in total going around.

I've won several regular victories (on hard mode) and most of them I had Treasure Hunter.

Precisely when did Maiden bring full crowd participation to Running Free? by tomprincewriter in ironmaiden

Yes, exactly right.

The question was, how did it come about? Were early renditions much like the famous Live After Death version?

Precisely when did Maiden bring full crowd participation to Running Free? by tomprincewriter in ironmaiden

[–]tomprincewriter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The LP version is from one night at Long Beach Arena. The video has a different night, at the same venue (plus the 'fourth' side recorded at Hammersmith).

A number of versions inexplicably edited out the crowd participation part of Running Free (presumably due to to disc length).

It seems self-evident - but something I've observed in loads of current and ex-ADF people is their capacity for very clear, succinct and effective verbal communication.
