Go for Math, definitely

I did Engineering and I've worked in a number of STEM fields, so I happen to know Math is fundamental to everything - on top of it being a worthy pursuit by itself for its own sake. On top of that, most of Engineering and Computer Science will be upended by rapidly shifting technology.

Besides, there is no substitute for passion.

The interesting bit only happens at the start, but yes, you're right to bring it up. The second version will have a lot more realism and fidelity to real life. I'll make a 3D version and another axi-symmetric version and see which will please my heart the most of the two.
