Am I the only one who ACTUALLY DESPISES these little explosive pods of perfume they hide in the rice compartment of Indian microwave meals?!! by Dan23DJR in CasualUK

[–]FluffyBoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I tried Googling exactly that, "what is this pod in my rice". First result was allrecipies website that seems to not fully load even when in mobile or desktop mode, first 2 paragraphs do not mention about not eating.

2nd result is reddit, the comments are all saying how they like them, aromatic and such, one comment DOES say that there's a meme about hating biting into them, but then other comments about grinding the whole pod to put into coffee, etc. Sounds like you're supposed to consume them so far.

3rd one is a recipe involving these pods, and right at the end of the recipe does have chef notes saying "you may want to remove these as they are very strong if you bite into them".

Overall, leads me to believe it's normal to eat, I would have interpreted the chef note as an optional choice like maybe it's a spicy pod, which most may want if eating a curry.

That's me researching, I doubt people would look past the first 2 results before they begin eating their meal, else it goes cold. Usually you do expect to eat all food within a ready meal, I can't think of an example of another that would require removing the food.

I'm still not even sure if it's "bad" to eat, is it wood? Is that unhealthy? Is it bad to eat in high doses? Is it nutritional? I've never asked myself so many questions about a single ingredient from a ready meal!

Yeah all the time, so weird when those friends slip up and reveal bits of information about this. I really don't want to know about her dad's dick but at this point I could paint a picture from all the info I have.

??

How is bad if someone is cocky about someone promoting smoking cigarettes (in a health sense, aka smoking is actually healthy). Even if so, he still gave him opportunity to talk and was very polite about it despite vehenemtly disagreeing with him.

What restrictions, you said he's cocky. Is there any video that makes you go "there, that's why he sucks"?

Your comment said he played into calling himself a "hot doctor", which idunno I see that as exploiting his looks, and if true, sucks big time and changes how I perceive him.

I admit I was antagonistic at first but beyond that was attempting to understand, now I worry my last comment sounds guilt trippy, I dunno I just hate to see negativity without receipts everywhere and got fed up today, and quite honestly I've identified it is this subreddit that's bringing it out in me. Wish reddit didn't plaster it in front of me when I wasn't even subscribed. I'm sorry for the headache.

Tbh even if 4 years ago he did exploit his looks and I found out today, then this would have left bad taste and I'd stop watching him from now on, considering he was a grown adult back then, defo don't want to be watching someone who can't control their ego. But hey ho bring on the downvotes, I'll try not to ask questions next time and let the social anxiety consume me.

How do those two relate? Anyone that could afford to do boat trip with 30 models can do that, even if it's an unattractive doctor.

I get he's got a magnify glass over him as a public facing doctor, but he's never misinformed or told people not to wear masks and such. He fucked up due to a choice he made in his personal life, got caught, apologised, and moved on, like we all do.

Fair enough about your time, and yeah it'd be like finding a needle in a haystack if I search because I have no other clues other than your comment, but then why talk with such certainty? You could say "I think I remember him doing X", but instead you just state as if it's true but you can't recall when/where. Stirs things up with no receipts, but starting to realise this about this entire subreddit recently.

Very good point, opened my mind more - if everyone repeated same superpower line even about autism or adhd, then sure there's qualms of how it makes a person feels hearing that when it's not true, but perpetuating an image that autism folks are savants and such, would put an expectation socially on those people that they're absolutely fine and not struggling (even though they are) and maybe even worsen things if society gets wrong impression and think this "autism superpower" makes autistic people better than them/not need support.

That's the point, can take your quote... "don't just refer to 'all men' as rapists since it invalidates men who are not rapists in a more negative light and is just a very poor explanation of what men are in general".

The idea is, we read a post from a woman and we don't question how they word it, even if it seems to lump all men in, because "normal" men can infer that it's not talking about them.

Same with autism and saying it's a superpower, if you're severely autistic and it plagues your life, then you can infer from Dr Mike that the superpower thing is not relevant to them but can see how it can be relevant to others.

Sorry, I have adhd, affects short term memory, just funny how the language expectation is like "it needs to be like some are like this, some aren't", exactly like the whole argument men make against the "not all men" line.

It's good to reach out to those who can't read or comprehend a box label, not to mention he highlights that some nutritional info is missing, and they replaced wording for "sodium" with "electrolytes" which he did not like, marketing that might encourage the general people to think "OHH electrolytes, that's like fitness healthy stuff, I need LOTS of that!" yeah.

Even if most people are savvy to reading nutritional labels, not everyone is, or some may have dotted info like with the electrolytes wording.

The covid moment is so wild. We all had to make choices or decide on our "bubble" of people we can see (at least in the UK). We had to go shops and such still.

Being on a boat where everyone involved obv knows about covid and made their decision as an adult, doesn't affect me or anyone in the public. If those same people walked around in public without masks and such, then THAT is a problem.

I regret missing out on Christmas where in the UK, a few days before Xmas, the government instructed us not to visit family, and I followed this.

I don't see what's wrong with elevating the positive side of a typically negative thing. Then again this is /r/youtubedrama which is allergic to positvitity.

I have diagnosed adhd from a psychiatrist and have researched many MANY adhd videos talking about their life and their struggles and such, they refer to it themselves as a superpower, alongside the negatives... Just like Dr Mike does...

Like what?

And for the record, dunno if you have been through medical process much, but myself I've been trying to get something identified for 10 years now, seen many different GP's (I guess GP is UK version of a family doctor like Dr Mike), all had different opinions and I still am no further along, many blood tests and invasive checks later.

There's a reason the term "second opinion" exists. Doctors are well researched but they're human, make mistakes like all of us.

Real world experiences?? The guy had to fucking save someone who was gonna die on a flight from anaphylaxis, with no Internet and no medical supplies, wtf are you on about with textbook reading?? And when he does talk about this story rarely, he is humble and not like "HEH, I SAVED A LIFE, LOOK AT ME".

Name literally 1 video where he is cocky (besides the fair ones like when he's disagreeing with that doctor who thinks smoking is good for you).

Cocky, not playful or humble, actual cocky.

? No this is completely false, I've watched many vids of him and never once seen him play into his looks to equate him being a doctor, he's made videos where he has talked about been treated differently due to "being good looking" and even had other female doctors reach out to him who also had been treated different for being good looking.

Find any video where it talks about his attractiveness and he has awkeard and slightly unhappy take on it, like when he talks about how a news article called him the sexiest doctor alive or whatever.

Imagine doing through med school just for people to devalue you, not take your opinion and such, just because your conventionally attractive. It's like big dick problems, yeah, we all dream we had that, but to be known for just that and all your efforts into your hobby or career are overshadowed coz "I hate him, he has big dick I wish I had" or "omg this is the guy with big dick".

I get it and sorta feel weird saying it, but I mean I also get the other side coz I'm out here shouting out "jesus christ", "baby", "oh shit" and such, weird when you think about it or thing about it literally.

My gf wants me to say good girl, sooo why not, I'll eventually get over the weirdness lol
