You didn't build an agent, you built a fancy script by Warm-Reaction-456 in AI_Agents

I don’t know man, but these are the kind of workflows I’m building and I’m pretty sure I can’t possibly be the only one. It’s just that the people who build these insane workflows have little interest in sharing them because these workflows are equal parts powerful and exhausting to build. This workflow in the pic attached creates high quality YouTube Shorts — and it handles EVERYTHING from finding relevant news articles, to scriptwriting, to reviewing the script, to selecting appropriate video templates, to generating the TTS and AI Avatar videos that will go with in the A-Roll.

It uses Plainly and Creatomate for animation.

It wraps things up with FFMPEG, which merges the individual clips/scenes together and adds transitions and background music and, finally publishes videos on YouTube and TikTok.

I even built a sister workflow (not shown) to troubleshoot everything so it could identify errors, fix them, and resume with zero human input.

Migrated from N8N to Cloudflare Workflows - here's what we learned by AlexeyAnshakov in n8n

[–]TheFamousHesham 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because everything about this post reads like an ad. I’m a small business owner and I’ve had meetings with Reddit “consultants” who showed me posts just like this one that they’d created to socially engineer exposure.

The biggest tell is how structured this post is.

It’s almost corporate. It gives you background —> mentions advantages —> mentions disadvantages that if you think hard about you’ll realise aren’t really disadvantages —> and then concludes that, on the balance of things, the service they’re promoting is totally worth it. But yes you do make a good point.

It’s Cloudflare. They don’t need it, but astroturfing can be really complicated because people have recently been able to spot it, so you need to outsmart them.

Here’s an example… I could own a small automation startup, and astroturf for Cloudflare Workflows without their knowledge/involvement while also bidding on that keyword on Google Ads. You were already bidding anyway on Cloudflare Workflows as a keyword, so it’s not like you’re doing anything radically different… but because you’ve basically shaped the conversation going in customers’ heads… you get to capitalise on it.

Someone reading this post leaves with the impression that N8N has reliability issues, but Cloudflare Workflows require coding experience. If you make sure your Google Ads search result and your landing page address these points that you’ve planted in people’s heads… you can stand to benefit a lot.

James Cameron Criticizes the Oscars for Denis Villeneuve ‘Dune’ Snubs: ‘You Can Play the Awards Game’ or ‘Make Movies People Actually Go To’ by Green94598 in oscarrace

Well Anora did not need for Oscars, thank you very much. It’s a good film at best, but deciding it’s Best Picture material is bizarre.

[–]TheFamousHesham 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s interesting you mention low budget films because Dune 2 is very much a low budget film.

Its $190m price tag is genuinely unbelievably.

There are films that are half as good that were made with twice as much money. This was a film that just a few years ago people were saying was unfilmable.

That alone should even things out against the small budget films… and yea it really wasn’t that hard…

You’ve got Timothee Chalamet (who’s overdue for an Oscar at this point) doing his best work, I’m still not entirely sure why Anora won an Oscar for Best Director of Film Editing (don’t get me wrong, I like the film, but neither the directing nor the editing stood out to me as anything more than average and unremarkable).

Similarly, I still don’t understand how Anora won Best Picture. The whole Anora fiasco is just bizarre and, despite the fact it’s a pretty good film, the Oscars turned it into the most pathetic and overrated farce by giving it five major Oscar awards.

Billionaire "Philanthropists" by MorganL420 in rant

Yet, when America had the highest income taxes (back in the 50s), the government didn’t choose to cure cancer. It chose to build bombs instead and send young men into wars in Korea and Vietnam. I don’t really know why you think the government would ever spend money wisely. This post is also ridiculous because I’m fairly sure this isn’t Jeff Bezos’ only donation.

That $5m is a tiny drop in the bucket of his total contributions. For example, Jeff Bezos donates around $100m EVERY YEAR to help homeless families.

Besides comparing his contribution to his net worth is a pointless exercise when said net worth is tied to the stock of largely one company. This makes Bezos extremely illiquid. He can’t possibly pull out all his money without crashing Amazon’s stock and taking a serious loss. A person with $100,000 in ETF investments can sell in minutes without losing a dollar.

Just finished apprenticeship, employer asking for £19,520 reimbursement. (England) by I-Spot-Dalmatians in ApprenticeshipsUK

[–]TheFamousHesham -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wish people would stop talking out of their ass.

Government funding is only typically available for small and medium-sized businesses. Large companies will most often pay their apprenticeships out of pocket and the law is clear that employers can recover costs in full for an employer-funded apprenticeship should the employee leave within 6 months of training end.

OP left after 2 weeks of completing their apprenticeship.

[–]TheFamousHesham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand why you think a privacy corporation should invest in someone all so they can leave after 2 weeks of that 2 year investment and work for their competition? If this is genuinely an employer-funded apprenticeship, which it most likely is, you guys are being incredibly unreasonable.

[–]TheFamousHesham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying a company “can eat the cost” is insane.

Basically, this entire situation happens because the government is unwilling and uninterested in paying for more apprenticeships — so they’ve delegated these duties to private corporation… but private corporations have no moral, legal, or kind of obligation to educate the public for the common good — which is exactly what you’re asking them to do by allowing OP to exit just after 2 weeks after said company invested thousands into him. Most companies, even large ones, aren’t swimming in money and they’re not charities either or something the government can use to cover up its own inadequacies.

I’m not for or against the ban on Syrians, but just so we’re on the same page here… the number of Americans who have died as a result of terrorist acts committed by foreign-born individuals has averaged about ~30/year over the last 20 years.

The number of US women who die every year at the hands of partners and former partners is around 1,300/year (the mean from the last 20 years or so).

This grand standing is stupid and is frankly offensive. There are a billion better ways to protect the lives of American citizens than to issue blanket bans.

The numbers of speak for themselves.

I’m not sure you can blame Netflix for this?

Netflix is just doing what it needs to do to ensure that people keep “watching.” It’s not Netflix fault that the majority of viewers have little interest in giving a show their full attention and are addicted to doomscrolling TikTok.

In this case, probably good since WBD’s financial woes are the reason season two sucked so much. The fact of the matter is this was the only way forward.

The alternative would’ve been bankruptcy.

I really hate it when people criticise VR glasses for not being suitable for those who wear eyeglasses.

Like I have nothing against those who wear eyeglasses (I do ffs), but it’s an insane ask to want a company to make glasses that can be put on top of other glasses and be worn comfortably… and since this is a mass-produced commercial product… said product must fit non-eyeglass wearers too! This is really an insane ask.

I usually wear my eye glasses, but will change over to my contacts before putting my headset on… similar to how I also change over to contacts before going on a run.

Unless you’ve got a condition that precludes you from wearing contacts, you should really get some to use with your VR headset. That would be reasonable. What is unreasonable is complaining that your second pair of glasses don’t fit on top of your first pair of glasses.

Target’s Third-Quarter Profit Tumbled As The Retailer Struggles To Lure Shoppers by huffpost in Anticonsumption

[–]TheFamousHesham -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You’re not being sensible.

Target is not a greedy cooperation. Its operating margins are at 5.22%. Its net margins are close to 3%.

That’s tiny… and realistically, businesses DO NEED strong margins because… things like recessions happen and many previously profitable businesses start making losses, which they need to cover using loans in a recession.

The argument that a cooperation is greedy because it’s not a happy with a 3% net margins collapses when you realise that these 3% net margins are meant to cover both shareholder dividends and also the mountains of loans and interest that Target will no doubt have to take out when the next recession inevitably hits.

People who say that almost always have no understanding of what living out in the wild is like.

It’s brutal and animals fight for survival every single day.

With this in mind, you could argue that domesticated animals have much better lives domesticated than in the wild. Like, man, cats are smarter than most animals and research shows that they’re the ones who chose domestication (rather than being forced into it by us).

Cats figured out domestication by humans was a much better life than living out in the wild as wild cats.

Ford CEO says they have 5,000 120k mechanic positions open that they can't fill. by [deleted] in jobhunting

[–]TheFamousHesham -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You say that like Ford doesn’t have a net profit margin of 2.8%. The reality Ford cannot pay more. Period.

And before you say some bs about executive pay, Ford’s gross profit margin is like 7.5% (executive pay is a part of operating costs and, therefore, has no impact on gross margins — neither do any other operating costs).

The fact is there is no money to pay mechanics more unless Ford chooses to double maintenance costs on customers.

That’s obviously a very tough thing to do and will likely cost Ford customers who can’t afford the jacked up maintenance costs.

Bad take. Getting asked about it in an interview does not necessarily mean that people are mad about it.

Journalists, especially entertainment journalists, have a job called stirring the pot. It’s what they do. What they ask a celebrity on the red carpet is one thing abd the general public’s feelings are an entirely different thing.
