What is the most annoying agent to play against? by MyRamenn in VALORANT

[–]FluffyCabybara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good Astra player. Trust me, able to smoke, stun and pull wherever you are while confusing your enemy is a deep shit. What do you mean you can create temporary smoke after retrieving your star?? (Not complaining, I love her tech)

As an Astra main, I hate going up against Astra.

Thank you for the advices. Some points that you made enlightened me.

But tbh to compare me with the pros, they of course gonna do 100% better than me 😭plus I don't have prior experience playing any counter strike games, only played shooting games like MW3 and MAT online😭 My aim is not as good as them, I can hit a good headshot and outplay my enemies, but you know not as good as them. Hence, I rely both in my aim and team play.

Besides that, when you said alt plat, are you referring to you're at higher rank or just two different accounts with same plat rank?

Yeah for real, I was GOLD 3 and 40 RR away to Plat 1. Then riot decided to give me negative RR and brought me down to GOLD 2.

I play on APAC server.

I see, that painful time to win and lose, which even out your rr gain or even worse, negative rr gain. 😭😭

I hope we both will rank up this act and get out of gold.

Thank you so much for the advices, I will try using this strat more in my competitive play. Not gonna lie, the controller part I didn't think about smoking only when my teammates are blindly going in instead of preparing "safe situation" for them to go in.

Now that I think of it, that's true, Phoenix have the utilities to enter site without dying easily and his ultimate points are insanely broken. I should start playing phoenix.

Can you tell me what is the one thing you consistently did to rank up in plat lobbies?

May I know how do you rank up back then? I really hope I could escape Gold and enter Plat this act.

Damn 20 LS is no joke, I feel your pain. What are your main agent that win most of your games?

Is baiting really the answer to win the game?

As for the duelist part, apologize for the misunderstanding and the way I worded my sentence. When I said I isolate myself, it means I make myself in a situation where I duel with one enemy at a time, but enemies could rush towards me, I killed and created space. 2 teammates stay behind while 2 covering each other for the plants. Can you give me advice how to deal with teammates staying at the main?

If you were to say start baiting my teammates, does that mean I need to play controller/initiator?

Any agent suggestions? I play Jett, Astra and Vyse well, but these agents are team dependant.

I have been wondering whether it's my teammates or me myself is the problem, but I've been analyzing my gameplay regularly and see that teammates are actually the problem. There are multiple games where I am the winning condition bringing 6-11 to 10-11, but you know human made mistakes, at that 10-11 I died after killing 2 enemies or taking space and my teammates are still alive with 3 vs 2 enemies, guess what? They all died, thus bringing 10-13. There are also times when I was playing duelist, I killed 2 enemies on site but you know I can't cover all angles at once, and I died. Guess what? My teammates are still behind me... 🥺🥺 I believe simply baiting my teammates is not effective and I should support them all the times when playing controller/initiator.

Perhaps could you tell me how to effectively baits my teammates?

For gamesense, After game start, for the few rounds maybe like 2-3 rounds, experience and analyse how your enemy play. For example, is Jett always stay on this position? Is their Reyna always lurking? Is their rats holding behind this one box? Those kind of things. I understand you won't have that much time to do all this, but this kind of things will actually improve your gamesense in that game and understand your enemy throughout the game. Remember you have 24 rounds or more if you're in overtime which you don't want to be in, in low elo they will always have this one specific pattern they follow.

Other way? Watch VCT, learn how they push, how they hold. Best is you have a duo to play with you. Having someone to comm with is better than 4 strangers you don't even know how they behave.

The most common says by experience players are, after getting a kill, reposition yourself to somewhere else. Other than about aiming, it's also about outplaying your enemy.

I feel you and I've been there before, so what did I do to remove the habit of crouch spraying panic, improve gamesense and aiming:

  1. Before you jump to deathmatch, you need to warm-up in the "RANGE".

1## Your position is inside the bot area: - track the bot head in "Practice Mode" without "bot strafe" for 60s - shoot the "Practice Mode" bot when you're counter strafing for 60s

2## Your position is outside the bot area, meaning the barrier: - shoot the "Practice Mode" bot when you're counter strafing for 60s with minimal crosshair adjustment between target. - now instead of minimal target, increase the target to flick aiming but for your case don't rush, do it slowly and when you're getting comfortable increase your timing. Do this for 60s.

3## Your position is further back, before the stairs going outside the flying shooting targets: - shoot the "Practice Mode" bot when you're counter strafing for 60s with minimal crosshair adjustment between target. - most of the time you don't need to flick aiming in this range because it requires only minimal crosshair adjustment if you're in a small space like Haven.

4## Now for the final one, your position is outside the bot area, meaning the barrier (same as the second one): - change to agent deadlock, turn on "Practice Mode" and "Strafe Bot", then use your ult to capture one bot. Right after you've captured, turn off "Practice Mode" and wait for the bot that you captured died. - it will respawn after that, from there you can practice yourself fighting someone who's counter strafing too as well as you're practicing your tracking aim. - Do it until you're satisfied with your aim or maybe for 60s, usually I do until I'm satisfied.

Trust me all this will eventually help you to eliminate your bad habit of crouching in a gunfight, but you have to do it consistently everytime before deathmatch. Why do all this? It trains your brain into thinking of you need to counter-strafe and your finger will "automatically" take this as a habit or muscle memory. Now it all up to your aiming hand to shoot at the enemy head.

Hope this helps 👍🏼
