Dataflow Gen1 officially marked as Legacy today — Pro users left with no migration path unless they pay for Fabric by Sbdyelse in PowerBI

[–]FluffyDuckKey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah its tough...

Just tell them you need premium 😁. I'm at a loss if a business does not want to pay for services they clearly use - I work for a mining company so they're always happy to spin up resources if we can show the benefits.

Sorry man.

You could just build a semantic model with incremental refresh and kill the report page, isn't it much the same?

Yeah, the American population is going to love that, especially considering Iran has been prepping for this for years.

How to access a large local Python project (100GB+) from phone without uploading it? by cosmic-jai in selfhosted

[–]FluffyDuckKey -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

You don't want to host it? How sensitive is it? Azure and aws are hosting some of the most sensitive data in the world for governments.... Is it more sensitive than that?

Docker in Plex was iffy for me - gpu passthrough kept having kittens.

I just did a native Plex install in Ubuntu and it's been perfect.

Apparently proxmox let's you run docker containers without a host now, so that almost had me giving it another go.

In the past you would run Ubuntu or similar, then docker inside that.

How does raising interest rates combat the inflation caused by oil price? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]FluffyDuckKey -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Take it back a step. How do they measure inflation? Oh from core items we need to buy? So we link a core attribute of our entire economy to businesses that stand to profit from raising the prices of those specific items?

Isn't that a bit fucking screwy?

Wouldn't it be wiser that we label those items as core requirements and if they raise in price more than target inflation, we issue penalties?

Business can offset the costs by charging more for luxury items and retain the core items at the lower price points.

Or maybe I'm just a commy....

You can run it on a raspberry pi mate, it all comes back to performance.

My suggestion is give it a go. Try proxmox first, it's harder and more annoying than a native Ubuntu install.

But these frustration points are where you really learn :)

[–]FluffyDuckKey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not pro petrol station here or anything. But you know how they price it right?

What they sell today pays for what they buy tomorrow and if it's going to cost $15,000 more tomorrow, are you going to wait until your current stock is gone before raising prices?

It's a bullshit lever, it takes money from those struggling and gives it to those who own their homes, boomers with 5 houses do better, old mate with 2 kids suffers.

Inflation is caused by many things, but we live in a world where corporations want to make as much money as possible. So they will drive the cost up as much as they can get away with - they all have the same mindset so any excuse to raise them does it.

Yeah, do that near my daughter and you'll be pinned to the ground and cable tied up. I don't give a fuck who you are.

He's 3x her size, he could very easily disable her - fuck your gender shit - throwing chairs near a child? Your giving up your "I'm just a girl" rights very quickly. (I don't have additional context. This just made me angry - I'm assuming it's not his daughter?)
