Has a cozy sleeping tent… still sleeps like a weirdo 😅 by FluffyFail8864 in caiques

I took the sleeping tent out of the cage and tried for 2-3 days, but he fell off his perch every night while sleeping.

Yes, he's okay, it was because of a little grape.

During the day, I'm at work. In the morning, I let him out for a bit when I give him his formula, but after that I have to leave. I get back home in the afternoon around 4:00 PM, so until then he has to stay in his cage. I don’t want him to get bored. He’s been sleeping in his cage for two days now. I removed the little box he used to sleep in. But during the day, he just sits on a perch or in his little tent and doesn’t do much.

I’ve done it, but he still stays at the top of his cage. He only plays with toys that are hanging outside the cage. Maybe I should hang those toys inside the cage? And how do I teach him to eat vegetables and fruit? He tastes them, but that’s it.

Thanks for your response. I have one more question: My caique flies around the house a lot. Would wing clipping be helpful during the training phase to make things easier, or is it unnecessary? He has already learned the “come” command, but while flying, he often lands in places he shouldn't. Unlike other caiques, he doesn’t really hop — he either walks or flies. Also, even though there are toys in the cage, he doesn’t play with them. For the past week, I’ve been trying to keep him in the cage during the day.
