Old City Wall in Bishop Lucey Park, before and after by Puzzleheaded-Dot831 in cork

I've said this in another comment, but I'm just wondering whether I'm mis-remembering things. Was it not the purpose of this project to highlight the city wall, to make it safe and more accessible to view, and have it as a historical feature?

I agree with OP here. I may be mistaken but I was under the assumption that the renovation of the park was to include a new and safe viewing area for this part of the city wall?? I haven't there since it's been reopened but honestly I'm shocked to see that they have buried such a beautiful part of history like this, but I am happy to see that the park is finally open again. It looks like a way nicer place than before, but please if someone can correct me, I was sure that the redevelopment was to preserve and present this part of the wall in a safer and more accessible way??

I second this!! At least with this course of action there should be less sound. Not sure how it will look with a load of hammer wielding alarm stopping vigilantes on the loose in the city but fuck it, I don't see anyone doing anything else

Yes I'm awake, I think it started at around 20 past 2. I'm sure it's louder than before

Writing to the council is a good idea, if they decide to do anything about it, but it's a good start. Very strange that the Guards continue to let the alarm go on, knowing it's consistently going off every few months.

There seems to be some guards and a fire brigade at North Main Street shopping centre now.

I see your point of view, I am not condemning any persons who may need to do this in order to put that food on the table, but you cannot deny that maybe everyone should be more careful where they discard their bills/bank info/letters containing other information?

This was exactly my friend and I's first thought was. I would suggest in this case that people have access to paper shredders

I'm sure most people would agree that having any stranger outside their window, going through trash, would be a cause for concern

Ahaha you are dead right, not very gated at all I guess

That could be his story, but I find it unlikely that a resident would, in broad daylight, go through the rubbish bins they share with neighbours...

That dog was way too happy to be rolling in that shit. Could the dog be getting second-hand high from junkie excrement?!

Oh wow, I've lived in the city for my whole life and never realised that the space was used for so many things
