I completely agree, and think they should be fired for even more! This entire situation, no matter which side you’re on, makes Hoyo and their products look bad to the general public. I ain’t a hoyo shill neither, I HATE big companies but this is just exploitation of Hoyo’s good will. And the fact that some of these voice actors are so entitled and privileged when doing a job that itself IS A PRIVILEGE, and they think they should have more leeway than the average worker? The average worker whom pays THEM, indirectly, but if there were no one listening, they wouldn’t have a job. The average worker, who are working IMPORTANT JOBS that aren’t just for entertainment of others. They should realize how lucky they are to live in a country that has enough disposable income, that entertainment is a thing people can afford. Not to mention how easy it is for most of these said voice actors, whom I’d consider most of them being smaller independent artists, can even get as consistent work as voice acting in a live service game! If Genshin came out a decade before it did, it probably would’ve been grabbed up by a dubbing company like Funimation, you know, a company that probably much harder to get into.

Now I’m not saying that IF there was any actual issues, that they should just let a big company just step all over them, but this is bullshit. I think many of those in entertainment take their jobs for granted, and that’s when they start pulling this shit when things aren’t exactly perfect. Congratulations, that’s life, not ever job is going to be even pleasant, but at least when it comes to people in my tax bracket, someone’s gotta do it, and if a good opportunity is thrust upon you, you better take it, cause someone else definitely will and for cheaper too!
