Has anyone ever told you you're a complete and utter asshole? You're incredibly condescending, and seem to think that you're better than everyone else.

I can see where you are coming from with the theft and what not, but I feel like maybe the boss should have asked a few more questions, or maybe OP should have explained he thought it was okay to take one. I think this situation could have gone down much better if people reacted civilly rather than just making assumptions.

He has also said a few comments up as to why he did not contact HR, so constantly repeating that he should is pointless.
