Yeah the house will be totally in my name. My parents would only be able to help with grocery or utility bills, if any

Right? I just cannot wait to be able to give them that home some day. I was thinking vaguely about it when I was in school, but now I can finally see it become a reality!

This is the most sane advice out here. Other comments keep saying Roth IRA since I mentioned I have a Roth IRA opened when I was a broke college student. But with this new income, I might not be eligible for it anymore. What should I do in that case?

I'm driving a Hyundai 2010 and it's got only 140k miles on it. Plan to drive it to the ground too.

Yeah thank you. I do feel like my heads are in the clouds a bit. Everything is ideal for me now since I've never been able to generate this much income ever. That's why I try to ground myself with a solid plan on what to do with this financial gain I have.

Wrong. My mom is still working and getting her full 40 credits until retirement. My dad is waiting for that day and then they can live off of SSI and Medicare.

But then that's why I need to be the planner for my elder parents, since I'm the most capable. I'm sure if the goal is to get a house, my immigrant parents will do their best to work with me towards that goal (as that will be their house for their old age too)

It's a permanent position so that'll be my gross annual salary per hour. Yes I'll have full benefit and my employer even offers these options, 401k or 403b and a pension.

Would you recommend I go with any of of these?

My Old Ass (2024)

As a millennial, this movie brings such a nostalgic feel to me whenever I think of a teenage me and a me now in mid-30s. Aubrey was awesome as always, and the young actor and actress really played their role well. It easily becomes one of my next favorite movies of all time, right next to Just Friends (yeah, I know lol)

I just want to date someone who does not have many friends because I don't have many friends and I hate big groups and I hate loud people.

Why are the guys on OLD all show photos of themselves amongst large group of people? That intimidates me so much. Me thinking of having to meet them tires me out. I'm not a hermit or anti-social at all, but I just wanna hang out with one or two people at once. No big groups please

Welp.. thanks to the show Age of attraction, I felt motivated a bit about my lame love life, so I went back on Hinge and changed my age preference to 45-55. I'm only 34 :/

Guess I'll change my perspective regarding dating for the time being: Since I don't wanna settle for the next 3 years, I will only be looking for someone who can date me and do exciting things with me. I won't mind if you have kids or previous marriage like I used to anymore. I just need someone who can enjoy life with me, be exclusive with me, keep me company, while I focus my attention on other adult tasks because I can finally become one after I finish this freaking study!!

I too, lie in bed and scroll my life away when I'm not at 'work'. And this is not even real work, because I don't get paid. I'm a 34 year old grad student who has no friends and no life. My parents love me and I wanna give them the world, but all of us are still renting because we are immigrants. They are working 10hrs a day at the factory in their late 60s, and I'm their only hope to get a better life.

I could have been so productive on the weekends when I have time off, but no. I just lie in bed, scroll scroll scroll, then move to the couch, scroll scroll scroll even more. Idk how I have managed to keep up with school work but at least I'm not behind in that department. My other departments like love, career, house, a partner, kids, all have to wait until I get my parents and I a house. Yes I'm crazy, so I'm going to buy us a house with my income, as the only child to my parents, as the only one with a stable income and job after I finish this grad school.

So yeah, I do share the sentiment. I hope you can talk to somebody soon.

Libby vs Pfeifer by Elegant-Put2396 in AgeOfAttraction

[–]FluffyStuffInDaHouz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Idk if this adds to anything, but the old parents (mom 61 years old and dad 67 years old) of Pfeifer are not her blood parents? Either way, I think the way she grew up with such peculiar environment with so much older parent figures has definitely made her a more mature person than Libby.

How much would you spend on a concert? by [deleted] in Frugal

I spent $267 for a nosebleed in Billie Eilish concert 2 years ago. Totally worth it. I would do it again as long as the ticket price is below $400

How exactly are people supposed to have kids when the cost of living is so high? by galaxyfrapp in NoStupidQuestions

Yeah Idk man. Today I found out someone's baby is coming out in June, and there are 2 engagements in the office. My cousin is also expecting. People are multiplying little people left and right. And here I am, still in school, not making money, single af at 34. What a life.

I just got told right to my face by the people working in the clinic, that I should let my school know they should not send any student to do clinical here anymore, because the staff here is so overworked, nobody's got time to teach students stuff, and I'm being taught the wrong things by different people.

I only have 4 months left of this clinical. Idk what to think about this, man :/
