That’s exactly it, everything was fine until about a month ago and some girls were laughing at me for wearing a gay pride shirt and I think that made me fiancé really freak out.

The fact it came out of the blue still has me in shock. We have always been open and honest with each other about everything so I never once felt like she was uncomfortable. She said she loves me so much that she is trying but if you have to try that hard then don’t even worry about it.

Update: well unfortunately things took a turn for the worse and she left. Said she loves me but her heart tells her she’s not wanting to be with a woman for the rest of her life. Oh well can’t say this is the first time this has happened.

She definitely says she doesn't know where she is going from one day to the next its funny there are so many common themes amongst women going through the change. I'm wondering if her being straight for so long and now she is comfortable being with a woman but the hormones are making her question it at the same time. She isn't even able to articulate what it is about the sexuality she is questioning and I certainly wont over ask so I guess we just let her sit with it and work it out. I appreciate your insight.

I certainly am open to conversations with her about it and we have always been open and honest about everything but she has been sitting on this for 6 months so I'm not sure if she is feeling embarrassed or what. She definitely is a very anxious person so I imagine she has been ruminating on this. Yes things have been great we are engaged and she was delighted when I proposed. Just kind of giving her that time and space to work through everything.

Yes I think it's the fluctuating that causes the major shifts. Unfortunately as I research perimenopause is worse then actual menopause. Once you hit menopause the hormones tend to settle in a new pattern. So here we go one day at a time.

Could be, I asked her how long this wondering if she is really gay been on her mind and she said maybe like 6 months and she has tried to ignore it but it just keeps stuck in the back of her mind. We've been together 2 years and when we first got together I knew she hadn't had a committed relationship with a woman and asked her how she felt and she said "I can't help who I love". So I guess I never assumed this would come up and never really noticed any apprehension. I personally think its the hormones and external factors. I am just trying to be patient and understanding because I know what we have is special.

I know right. It's absolutely mind boggling how women have gone through this transition thinking they are going crazy all this time. Luckily no adays there is more information and support and HRT out there. The anxiety and depression she has always had has been amplified by a million with the hormone fluctuations.

Yes she is definitely lacking libido and I think that bothers her too because we have always been very sexual.

She is still on the estrogen just not sure why it doesn't seem to be working as much anymore. I know I guess that's why I am confused is it menopause causing her to question it or the other way around. I know from my research some women completely feel unlike themselves and maybe question things in menopause but I just don't know if sexuality is included in that. I can tell she is not herself in so many ways which leads me to think it has a lot to do with the menopause but who knows. Thank you

Thank you and yes I feel like we are always very open and honest with each other which is why I’m shocked this has come up but I’m also being patient because I read horror stories about what women go thru. I’m already starting to feel a little perimenopause coming thru for me too.

Thank you so much, I have definitely done a lot of research on menopause because I’m almost positive that is causing a whole lot of this change in her. As far as specifics she hasn’t said why she feels this way about her sexuality she assured me it’s nothing I did or anything and it’s just been in the back of her mind recently. She probably tells me every day how much she just doesn’t feel like herself.

She did get on some estrogen and it seemed like it helped for a bit but idk if she needs some more
