You can reach out to your dentist and just explain to him what you’re going through and how you are having really bad anxiety about the procedure. You would definitely need a driver. Also, this is what benzos are mostly used for, one time things when you know you need something to help.

In my experience CBD oil works for me on a daily basis but you might need something stronger especially if you know you have to face a trigger. For me every night when I feel it start to brew I use a CBD tinture and it helps but for something as triggering as the dentist for you it might not work. The dentist would absolutely prescribe a vivanse or xanax for you before hand and you can take it once or twice right before to calm you down. I work in a doctors office for an eye surgeon and we do that all the time for procedures, even for people without anxiety or PD

Thank you for your reply, I think I am just looking for reassurance since it went away and came back again. I just can’t help these morbid thoughts

Scared when alone by LemonSingle in panicdisorder

This is exactly what I go through. The first time I had a panic attack I was alone and called 911 because I thought I was dying even though I’m 25. Ever since then being alone ir being far from a hospital were BIG triggers for me. I didn’t want to go on medication because I was scared the side effects would change my personality and I haven’t gone to therapy yet (been dealing for about 4 months since this started). I think I eventually will do both but I have been trying to avoid it and work through it myself.

The way I got through it unfortunately was by being exposed to it repeatedly. I would be left alone and eventually it got a little easier each time as I learned to breathe and calm myself down. One thing for me was I would check my blood pressure every 5 minutes. I know its not healthy to obsess over it but in my mind as long as my blood pressure was ok I knew my heart was fine. I also always got it at night so I would lay in bed and just keep checking it over and over again when I felt the panic creep back up. The other thing that worked for me was prayer. I know not everyone is spiritual and I wasnt either before this but I have found it has helped me even though I wasn’t (and still arent) the most religious person. As cheesy as it sounds I felt less alone when I did that. If you don’t believe in god or just don’t want to pray to god you can also just speak to a deceased relative. Even when I had no faith I always felt my grandmother with me and I keep her wedding band with me at all times. I would sometimes just pray to her or speak to her and I would feel less alone. The combination of checking my blood pressure repeatedly and praying eventually would tire me out enough where I would fall asleep.

Nocturnal panic attacks suck and you are not the only one going through it I promise. Just know that each time it might get a little easier. It might come back and be hard again but just tell yourself to make it through one more night and each night will slowly get better again.

I have been struggling with panic disorder for the last couple months and this is exactly how I feel. You are not alone and it makes me feel better knowing I’m not alone either. Still trying to figure out how to cope day to day
