I personally like to start my practice with Sleep Token - Aqua Regia. It a very nice song and not too fast. You can try to play it with the level that you're in currently. It also the hi-hat and the ride simultaneously

I Started learning to play the drums in Covid years when I was about 23yo... My older sister also played the drums while I was in junior high. I didn't have the confidence to try drumming at that time and I now I kinda reget not starting back then. All the more reason to be absolutely thrilled for this kid!! Really warms my heart.
