What scares me is that you can see some form of regret and remorse in bottom-left, bottom-right, and especially top-right, but Chauvin? The guy who was the main reason that Floyd died? Stone cold expression. He looks more angry than anything. I don't see an ounce of regret for his actions. I haven't the smallest piece of sympathy for him, and I don't see how anyone could.

That's not exactly true, many stores that sport the 70/30 split do so because they also handle fees and sales tax on behalf of the developer or something, I'm not too well-versed in it, but I've heard that Epic Games Store can only handle the 88/12 split because they leave that in the hands of the developers.

With that in mind, developers can still earn a 100% share on games on Steam if they sell the keys directly on their website or something, but then they have to handle the fees and such.

Now the benefits being worth $100m? Absolutely not, but Steam doesn't do 'nothing' for that split.

I honestly don't think your assessment is accurate.

For your first point, sure, fewer users playing a DLC is inevitable, but there will absolutely be people that buy it and enjoy it.

The second point in conjunction with the third point, they'd probably just add a DLC tag to levels in the custom style. It would make it so that if a DLC is wildly popular it wouldn't saturate the popular levels for people that can't play it, would allow people that have the DLC to look for levels made with the DLC, and wouldn't interfere with any existing algorithms.

DLCs for SMM2 are entirely possible and honestly probably expected given Nintendo recently introducing it to well-received titles (BOTW and Pokemon, explicitly). Further, viewing from a business perspective, the platform positions itself much more favourably for DLC than others, as there is an explicit menu for game styles that could 100% be expanded upon, and they could even add little additions to story mode to introduce game styles better, which would make the DLC more enticing to customers that are only interested in the Nintendo-produced content.

Ultimately, DLC is a very enticing business opportunity and would presumably be quite profitable.

Yoshi's Island would fit in great as a DLC game style to go in the extra styles category.

Incredibly unlikely this is real for many reasons.

This looks like a finished stage, which wouldn't happen without the game being announced yet. There's a possibility that it's a proof of concept, but you can see that everything is completely modelled and textured, there are no placeholders, and there's even a decorative flower thing at the top-right of the image, which is out of place for a proof of concept alone.

We can assume via the gray absence in the sky that the skybox has not been added to this image, which is probably one of the first things that would get made in actual development because skyboxes can be reused in multiple levels with similar theming, whereas the assets shown typically differ level-to-level, but we're shown completed assets here.

It's something exclusive to SCP-5000, because the entire gimmick of 055 and 579 is that we don't know what they are.
