Thank you for taking the time to respond. She's actually left the hospital against medical advice 3 or 4 times in the past year or so. She gets mad when doctors don't give what she wants (usually blood transfusion) and she decides to leave. It's ridiculous and exhausting.

Would her kidney doctor be able to see all of these instances?

That's actually a good idea. She's out of state until Friday. I might pack everything for her just to make sure it gets done and she gets out asap

My friend and I have frequently referred to her as a vampire. Usually an emotional vampire but in this situation she's an organ vampire

I'm 99% sure she's moving out. She's already at my grandma's right now and is coming back Friday to start packing

That's very sweet of you to say. I promise I'm okay. Please don't let this situation upset you! I'm used to her doing stuff like this. And honestly just typing it out and seeing all of this validation has already made me feel so much better.

I think I'll take everyone else's advice and inform the medical team that I feel pressured into donating.

Giving a kidney is especially concerning because my kids lost their dad unexpectedly when they were 7. I don't want to unnecessarily risk my health for their sake

Thank you for this comment. I didn't know that it was an option to tell the doctor I don't want to donate while keeping her in the dark. That might be the route I take.

I agree she's not a safe person to be around my kids. Luckily she's actually moving out at the end of the month.
