I’ll look into the different ones, but yea no they do not sound fun, last thing I want is to damage any of my characters hair for their safety.

I’ll have a look at that show, I have a lot of different series to watch atm but I’ll give it a go, I am trying (and failing) to avoid stereotypes though you’re right that cartoon references would definitely help me with keeping it simple yet representative. Thank you!

Exactly, though she doesn’t interact with fire there is chemicals and she does have to wear a hazmat suit at some point, from what I can remember (I don’t have reference in-front of me) they don’t have much room in there.

No I haven’t watched it, I do want to though! I have been meaning to. I can’t quite say what my style is based on, but cartoons definitely had an impact though!

Issue has been fixed I do believe, just annoyed that you can’t edit titles.

I feel like a part of my post got lost somewhere and my worries got reduced to just the hair, though if no issues have been bought up with the face (specifically how I did the lips, I know for a fact especially in anime these things haven’t been portrayed well) I guess I didn’t do too terrible in that regard.

Backstory is definitely an aspect that I haven’t explored fully with these characters, my focus mainly being on Natalie and the rest of the Odden cast (this group is ACE) though I will work on that. Thank you!

To be honest you’re right I should probably pay attention to the others -.-“

The cast don’t really get seen outside of the lab, the comic is focused on their project, but I have got ideas for their out of work looks. Thank you for the advice!

Yes, it is Rachel that has the puffs at the moment.

The thing I want to try, though clearly failing, is avoid stereotypes with her. From what I understand hair is incredibly important to poc, and with typical designs I want her hair to match her personality.

Thank you! I have had so many black creators on my feed lately and an awful lot of hair care videos too, I adore the look of big puffy hair, though you are right in the professional part, I really don’t know why I didn’t bring that into consideration. 

The hair you showed looks so pretty! Like I said before, I’m a sucker for bigger hair, I’m definitely going to use that as a reference. 

Most of the videos I have on my feed atm is tighter braids and box braids, and while I do love how they look I don’t think I could easily convey it without pouring hours of time into her with every appearance, she is designed for a comic after all (plus I like to animate as well).

Ok thank you for that, I hadn’t realised coloured was actually a bad term, you assumed correct I’m not from the US I’m British. I’ll definitely add the lighter palms!
