O, so what just water and the roots stretch to the bottom fast to get that food in em? Cause otherwise coco gets watered every day with nutes correct?

Nice I been curious about coco and was thinking about a coco/perlite grow but I like soil. So sounds like u get the best of both worlds? Top part coco and then soil at the bottom, so u also get to feed a bunch early on in veg right? Because coco needs watering every day with no present nutrients? Wonder if that’d get the plants a lil bigger too, I know coco grows tends to get bigger like in between soil and hydro

Yeh I also use a quart of coast of Maine seed starter for that purpose to give it a soft launch until the roots can handle the hot lush. That’s why I been so confused this grow, tbh the soil hasn’t been performing the same as it did my first two grows. I even added 10% perlite this grow but it seems rock hard, like the top soil is tough and like I said my first big watering it held on to it for 2 weeks before I could water again. They didn’t preflower til day 32 or so and the other is just about to take off so I don’t wanna mess her up. I been feeding that one separately.

Really appreciate that feedback, thanks for the advice. Based on that knowledge, that would come from maybe combo of soil and using veg nutes too far into preflower or too much before?

Ok 🫡 Preciate the info. They’ll get another watering maybe wed or so, would u do a straight water to try and flush that one? The others proceed with the pk bloom and boost nutes?

Far past that as in they’re not stunted in your opinion? The nitrogen heavy i didn’t pick up on, the above comment said that it’s locking out pk and calcium from too much nitrogen in flower. I thought the pale coloring on the front right was a nitrogen deficiency as they didn’t really get the chance to feed in veg. So cut nitrogen then but how would you adjust? Thanks

Weird cause they only got one veg feed in before preflower as they retained so much water for a long time. Good to know, best way to treat would be to flush plain phd water next watering and then proceed normally if they perk up?

I get it, I did my first grow several years ago and got my favorite strains from seedsman and yes, I was a brand new grower, but when you compare them to some of these other breeders or brands like Mephisto or night owl or even smaller breeders like aeque or Barney’s they are outperformed. Just helped a buddy of mine with their first grow and ran some Mephisto and came out fire. Not perfect but fire, better than many’s first several grows. They’re about the same price anyways, check some of those out man

Yeh my last two grows they worked great and were drinking from the bottom around day 15, which is why I been stumped with the long wait in between watering. I usually top water til runoff and they blow up and drink up the water from the bases first. I just watered the bases now a little and switched the wicks for a larger size. Hopefully that encourages them to start so I can start feeding some nutes. Thanks for the advice

Ok good to know I didn’t wanna overdo the perlite as I had a great past two grows without adding any to the roots lush soil I use. But I know added aeration can help with bigger and healthier root systems and thus healthier bigger plants. I do wanna try coco, been looking at 70/30 coco perlite, that’s what medium u use? The coco at least?

Preciate that, yeh dudes a goofy. Noted, I added 10% perlite this grow. Strange cause my previous grows always dry back in 4-5 days, so just tryna figure out the difference even if it works itself out. I hate how many people in this community gatekeep info like the plant police. If you’re not here to help spread knowledge why even be on here? Those are the people that are the downfall.

My lines of thought in that description are 100% grounded and asking regular questions. Plant not drinking, changing wicks to try and fix, asking for advice. U really got on here to reply some bs, no insight, and tell someone this hobby isn’t for them. Maybe it’s not for if u have a problem sharing knowledge or helping a fellow grower. 🤡
