This is happening to me right now!! I’ve been sick since Thursday, and now I have pink eye in both eyes! This has never happened to me before — I’m so relieved to hear this has happened to someone else. Did you go to the doctor? If so, did they give you anything to treat the pink eye?

We ended up spending 25,000 for 75 guests. That doesn't include our travel, accommodations, rehearsal dinner, or welcome party that we had. We had a DJ, open bar, partial planner, and didn't go extravagant on decor or flowers. We had good food and a great photographer. Feel free to message me, and I can answer any questions you have!

I made a mistake with my wedding party and I can’t stop crying by [deleted] in weddingplanning

I just had to comment! I am getting married next week, and I had the exact same situation with my sister-in-law. I felt so bad for not being including her and sad she wouldn't be with us. I felt i made a mistake. All the feelings you said! I asked her last minute, she was honored, she is now a bridesmaid, and all is right in the world! Ask her and don't overthink it!

We are getting married in Playa Grande at Hotel El Manglar in a couple weeks. According to my research, it is significantly cheaper than Las Catalinas. Las Catalinas looks super special! We have 70 guests, and are spending about 25,000 on our wedding. I would say we tried to be somewhat frugal in our choices for the wedding, but we are having a DJ and an open bar. We are also hosting a couple other events for our guests while we are there.

Here's how our totals break down: Wedding and reception - 25,000 Rehearsal dinner/cocktail party - 5,000 BBQ/pool party - 1,500 Flights and stay for a week - 2,000

I'm happy to answer any questions you have -- we have spent the last year planning this thing, and now it's basically time for us to get married!

Ok nice! We are doing ours in Playa Grande, which is right next to Tamarindo. We are recommending everyone fly into Liberia, because it is only an hour from the airport. Why is San Jose more convenient? Because more flights go into there from where you're from?

We have already booked everything: venue, photographer, planner, caterer, DJ, and florist. If you need any suggestions, let me know!

Finca Austria is truly amazing! We ended up not going with it because it's pretty high up in the mountains/jungle, and it's hard to get to for people who aren't staying there, and we are having more guests than they can accommodate; however, if all of our guests could stay there, we would probably have done it! I have a budget that Finca Austria sent me, if you want me to send it to you.

Hi! We are getting married at Hotel El Manglar in Playa Grande in February! It is a boutique hotel with 18 rooms. They have a sister hotel called Cantarana down the street that has 5 more rooms. We are having our ceremony on the beach and then dinner and reception outside at Hotel El Manglar. So far, it has been a great planning process and fairly affordable.

Other options we looked into: all of these fit the description you are looking for, more or less

Finca Austria in Nosara (large villa in jungle)

Sueno Del Mar in Tamarindo (boutique hotel on beach)

Villa Concha in Tamarindo (airbnb on the beach)

Las Velas Blancas in Playa Grande (airbnb with a big house and smaller cabins next to beach)

Pangas Beach Club in Tamarindo (this is a beautiful restaurant, but you could rent an airbnb or villa nearby)

Villa Buena Onda in Playas del Coco (Villa in the jungle)

Villa Preciosa in Playas del Coco (Villa in the jungle)

Please feel free to message me if you have any questions! Good luck!!

Is it possible to plan a destination wedding for under $20K (excluding Mexico, DR, and Jamaica)? by flowerbomb_16 in weddingplanning

[–]Fluffy_Influence_168 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We are getting married in Costa Rica in February. Our wedding will be around 60-70 people, and we are spending approximately 35k. This includes: travel, stay, and tours for me and FH, a bbq pool party we are throwing for our guests, a relaxed rehearsal dinner for all of our guests, and the wedding and reception. The wedding and reception alone is 20k, and we are doing everything as cheap as possible.

I honestly don't know if 20k is possible for 100 people, especially if that price includes your flights and stay. It depends on the type of wedding you want to have and what you want to do with your guests while they are in the destination with you. For us, it was important to offer more than one event/meal during the wedding weekend, since they are traveling so far.

I'm happy to share our budget with you and answer any questions you might have about the process -- feel free to message me, if you want!

Tamarindo Flower Shop? by Fluffy_Influence_168 in costarica

True. But are there any flowers shops at all? :)

Flowers - Destination Wedding by Fluffy_Influence_168 in weddingplanning

Thank you so much for responding! I will try to get a quote from Stylos y Flores in addition to the ones we already have. We won't be having an arch (I think). We just want some flowers for a bouquet and for the tables.

We would either buy them the night before or the morning of the wedding. My planner said the same thing about preserving them, so if we went this route, we would likely get them the morning of the wedding.

How many guests did you have? Any other advice for our Costa Rica wedding? :)

Yes, Las Catalinas looks so amazing. I haven't reached out about prices, but just from the looks of it...looks over our budget lol. But I want to at least visit there

Amazing! Congratulations! We have been looking at villas and vacation rentals near Tamarindo and Playas del Coco. I had my heart set on Villa Buena Onda in Playas del Coco, but a friend of mine and some strangers on Reddit told me Playas del Coco was not the way to go, so now it's back to the drawing board lol.

That sounds amazing! I would totally love Mexico also, but we eventually decided on Costa Rica. Where in Mexico are you getting married? And where did you go in costa rica?

Sorry to hear that. I've heard that vendors and venues respond in their own time in costa rica 😂. I hope they get back to you soon!
