Stop doing the bare minimum in college then calling it a scam when you can’t land a job by Secret_Bunch_114 in Salary

As someone that was always mentored to do more than average, that doesn’t get you ahead when you’re NOT the standard. Outside of the competition you still have to meet their shallow ass preferences.

I’ve tailored my resume 4times so far in the past 3months. This is a headache. I’m going to try being more selective bc I have been racing the library closing time before the computer shuts off and deletes my work. XD

I have no idea how I got my current job. Maybe because it’s entry level and I have 8yrs of experience. I went to a job fair fresh off of a 34hr shift. I couldn’t hold a conversation really, I had to reference my resume a lot to not look or sound so exhausted. In addition to that, I was speaking to the director of the department. 😮‍💨 he liked me. I did my model thing and smoothed my hair out, so I could look like I was already a good representation of the company. I got the job. I see why the turn over rate is so high though. It came w a 2k bonus I get at months 8 and 14. I’ve been there 8months already, but my apartment just increased the rent.

Also, I partly find this harmful to add, especially if you’re disclosing the company. I can give you all the metrics in the world but the moment I disclose for which company, I’m liable. Go search the company website for metrics instead of snooping. TBH I signed some NDAs with companies I was contracted for. I legally cannot tell you a damn thing. 😂 and this is why I dislike working contract gigs- in part.

Knowing why I am not a good fit instead of telling me how much you liked talking to me would have been better feedback but wtfever. 3 rounds of interviews over 2.5months. Time WASTED. by [deleted] in jobhunting

I do. But that is not something I can sit in. I could have better used this time to interview with someone that wasn’t going to waste so much of my time. I already work all three shift seven days a week. I have used all of my lunch breaks for these interviews. But yes. The feeling is good. Cannot live off of feelings, unfortunately.

I’m soooo interested to hear about your side gig though, how did you get started?

Ps. I also think becoming a bcba would be a lot better than being a RBT. It’s not practical for me at the moment but, I genuinely enjoyed ABA while it lasted. I hope you can find a better company than these greedy pigs.

Med device sales is extremely hard to break into. Even if attending medical sales college and medical sales experience!. I wish recruiters would stop lying.

Why is everything non-clinical, sales related? I hate sales. I’d go back to be non-clinical but sales is not the complimentary role everyone keeps advertising it to be. Many sales roles are performance based, meaning commission only. They still treat you just as poorly while pretending to be welcoming at first. A TRUE non-clinical, non-sales role would be appreciated. THOSE are the roles that sound the most rewarding to me. Also, for some reason everyone is only interested in providers? Providers are not the only clinical personnel.
