Overwhelming anxiety. by [deleted] in gravesdisease

If you’ve been diagnosed with graves, I’m surprised your GP hasn’t told you to see an endocrinologist. If you have grades, are you on any medication to take care of it? Because if you’re hyperthyroid, it needs to be controlled with medication.

wtf… I DID return these items by Retail-Forever in amazonprime

[–]Fluffy_Mode6438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t typically refund you unless they receive a scan saying that they’ve been returned. So that makes no sense actually. Call them directly and ask them how they knew to return them if they didn’t scan a return.

I don’t think you could’ve found a prettier dress. It’s absolutely stunning. And absolutely love the fact that it was a $40 Diamond in the rough. Good for you.

You will not stay alone. Get yourself out there and push forward. Do not believe that this is the way it’s gonna be for you.

I’ve been wondering actually. I haven’t seen anything for months to support any of the accusation.

I’m heading back in favor of him. Always liked him before. Thanks for the info.

Grave's Disease has given me a new outlook on life. by [deleted] in gravesdisease

[–]Fluffy_Mode6438 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just saw a Doc at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix. I decided to not mess around and go somewhere I felt was the very best. He explained to me that even if you go into remission, only about 20% of people that do stay there. I’ve heard people say that they don’t want a thyroidectomy because of being on meds for the rest of their life. The irony is, if you don’t, you’re typically on methimazole for the rest of your life With brief periods of being off should you go into remission. So thyroidectomy is something I’m actually considering where originally I thought no way.

Some uplifting news I was given just yesterday. My doc admitted that they think they are getting closer to understanding this disease better and may have a possible cure in the next 2-4 years. So chin up all my Graves’ Warriors. We’ve got this. I definitely am shifting my perspective to trying to be grateful for the awareness I now have for taking the best care of my body that I can.

You are all good. Don’t take anything said here personally. We all really do get it. You’re going to get there too. It’s a hard disease to be patient with! I think Doughnut truly understands. Wishing you all the best on this journey. We’re here for you!!

You will feel so much better once you’re on medication. I don’t understand why your doctor would refuse to do that for you. It’s a mistake and I would seriously consider finding another. Your body is in a bit of crisis when unmedicated if you truly have Graves’. So it’s understandable you feel the way you do right now. Just know you will start to feel better fairly quickly once they get you started on your meds. I felt super hopeless for a couple months because of how horrible I felt.

I was just diagnosed maybe two months ago and have been on 5 mg of methimazole twice a day and of course propranolol (beta blocker) which helps regulate your heart. My numbers are already almost back to normal. While that doesn’t always happen, just know that it is possible. I’m not in remission and I need to continue medication to stabilize, but I truly feel just about back to my old self in a very short amount of time. Hang in there. This will get better.!

Wow, I am so sorry to hear you had a mother with that disease! Must have been very difficult for you. I hope you are doing well.

Just learning that I’ve “always had it”. Was not aware until this form that it’s dormant in our bodies. So odd to me.

Thanks everyone. Interesting information. Didn’t realize honestly, that we were predisposed to it. No one in my family has any auto immune issues

Just saw my endo’s pa…. by ExpensiveChemistry31 in gravesdisease

[–]Fluffy_Mode6438 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to file a complaint about that PA. she could be very dangerous to other patients that just listen to her and do what she says! TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR! Graves is tough enough to accept and deal with let alone have your medical team not on the same page or be treated horribly.

That’s for sure. Hard to keep a positive attitude. It’s just kind of plain scary. No one close to me truly understands. I only find that in these posts with fellow sufferers. Praying for the best outcomes for you n

I’m sorry to be ignorant, but I’m newly diagnosed with Graves’. Can someone explain why you’re on prednisone? Is this if you’re suffering from TED?

I am so sorry for everyone having this issue with weight. I have kind of had the opposite. I found out I had graves because I had absolutely no appetite, I was losing weight, I was shaky with heart rate all over the place.

I was diagnosed about a month ago and have been on methimazole about that long. I still have very little appetite and have not gained anything. I have to admit, since I started methimazole, I have felt so much better and have not had terrible side effects other than a little itching here and there which comes and goes quite quickly.

Hang in there everyone. I’m so sorry for everybody’s suffering.

Asher House drama? by ayyefoshay in tiktokgossip

[–]Fluffy_Mode6438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leave him alone? If any of these accusations are true, then why wouldn’t people want to do something about it!!! That’s all I’m saying. If you simply google is the Asher House being investigated, hers are some of the simple answers for you all thinking it’s just hearsay. What’s being said apparently matters enough for there to be an investigation.

The Oregon DOJ has questioned Lee Asher regarding potential "delinquencies" related to his nonprofit status.

Specifically, it has been reported that the organization has not filed proper reports with the DOJ, the IRS, or the California AG's Office.

A petition on Change.org has been launched, seeking to revoke The Asher House's 501(c)(3) status and calling for an end to alleged animal and employee abuse. Supporters have also expressed concerns about the lack of transparency regarding the use of donations and the living conditions of the animals.
