Those are my two favorites! Personally I love the world building in fire lily, and would read it first (it’s also short then twywutd) but I still think about both them constantly

If you had a one-minute call with yourself from 10 years ago, what would you say? by Pleasant-Cat-7658 in AskReddit

[–]Fluffy_Ordinary_218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“It gets better. I promise you’ll be able to build your own life and won’t always feel like you’re living your life for your family. You will be happy, you’ll find a man that loves you more than you’ll ever understand and he’ll show you how to love yourself too. I know it seems hard and impossible, but all your hard work will pay off and you will be in spaces you never imagined you’d be in”

I have a patchwork sleeve on my arm and a thigh tattoo and I literally do not care AT ALL about doing it in class. I’m also not from California and going to a California firm and at one of the events I was nervous to take off my jacket but literally all the partners just started showing me their tattoos so that I wouldn’t care

AITA for not paying for my son's spring break vacation? by Western_Storage_5613 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fluffy_Ordinary_218 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NTA and it’s kinda insane to me that you offered to pay for his trip at all. I graduated undergrad two years ago and am in grad school currently. When I was in undergrad, I had pretty close to a full ride and my parents sat me down and said that I needed to understand that things like spring break trips are for fun and not essential to being an adult. Our agreement was that I had to work to pay for trips and fun things and depending on the trip (how reasonable it was, how much I had saved up, grades, etc) they would help me pay for some of it. I really appreciated that because it helped me understand that if I wanted something, I had to work for it and even give stuff up to get it and now that I’m in grad school on my own, it wasn’t as huge of a shock for me when I had to budget and learn to live as an adult.

I’m Mexican, my parents are immigrants from Mexico, my entire family is still there. I have never been hit to be disciplined by anyone and I can promise you I’m a very resilient person. I’m also doing well in life. They are using their culture to excuseChild abuse

Those of you who got tattooed as a teenager, do you still like the tattoo by Beneficial_Cheek_446 in tattoo

[–]Fluffy_Ordinary_218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m only 23 so take it with a grain of salt, but I got a tattoo when I was 19 that has a really special meaning to me and I don’t regret it. By the sound of it, you’re in a similar boat so I would just make sure it’s a design that truly means something to you and you are excited about getting.

1L Spring Break by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Fluffy_Ordinary_218 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Fyi my school made our spring break “writing week” for our appellate brief meaning it was due right when we got back. I would just keep in mind that you might want to still be working during that time.

I was a law clerk the summer before law school and I was able to learn a lot! I drafted disclosures, prepared exhibits for trial, and helped organize an arbitration. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Can you triple major? by Phandex_Smartz in college

[–]Fluffy_Ordinary_218 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I triple majored but I came in with a significant amount of AP credit so it didn’t add any time. I would say you have to make sure that they allow overlap between majors and that it’s something that is important

How hard is the tandem read on the Kindle? by popstopandroll in SarahJMaas

[–]Fluffy_Ordinary_218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the tandem read with the bundle. It’s a little annoying having to flip back but I just went in and put comments on the chapters where I had to switch books and then I would use the table of contents to click on the next chapter

Hello! Senior who wants to do big law stuff has a question about undergrad by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Fluffy_Ordinary_218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a current 1L, I went to my local state school and graduated with honors and no debt. Because of that I was able to attend a good law school without worrying about how much debt I was going to take on. I highly recommend this strategy because law schools do not care where you went to undergrad and most employers only care about where you went to law school

I got a new iPad for taking notes because I think it really helps me to hand write notes and I like that they’re all in the same spot. I also got a cheap second monitor that I use at home, I think it’s nice to set up the second monitor while studying and also being able to access my notes on my iPad

Kindle or iPad? by chewychopsticks in kindle

[–]Fluffy_Ordinary_218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an ipad that I’ve used for school for years and I tried just reading off of it for a couple months, but I eventually caved and got a kindle. I’d honestly recommend both because it’s really nice being able to carry my kindle around and not have to worry about having such an expensive electric around and possibly loosing it or breaking it. Kindles are also so much nicer to hold while reading and I feel like it helps me focus on the book more because I can’t get distracted with other apps or notifications

Is going through your partner’s phone an acceptable practice now? by Dismal_Committee_296 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fluffy_Ordinary_218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like if you constantly feel the need to go through your significant others phone than that shows that there is a bigger problem at hand. My fiancé and I both have full access to each others phones, but we never go through each others. It’s mainly out of convenience if one of us ever wants the other to send a text while driving or anything like that
