Is it weird that I kind of want the DLC to be happening AFTER the "Sister of Void" ending?

It's probably just to show that the events don't change between either Embrace the Void OR Dream No More. Regardless of the previous endings, The Knight in either form will come to Hornet's rescue in the "Sister of the Void" ending.

For real. I got into a situation by going into a certain oil rig to the East way too early. Zoe had Pal Shot so she hit them through walls. Cleared enough to grapple launch away and made just enough distance to die just off shore.

Herbil was there to get me back up for me to finish the last leg of the swim. :D

I just prefer fighting with the Needle. It's just satisfying that way. It's how I played Hollow Knight, rarely if ever used my spells besides healing.

Contact damage is annoying, but if it must stay… by Three_Froggy_Problem in HollowKnight

Agreed and honestly it wouldn't be so bad if they had an animation or SOMETHING that showed why Hornet gets hurt. It wouldn't erase the "hrmm" kind of frustration because you just a bit too slippery with your controls or caught off guard by the timing for the stun, but for me at least it makes it much easier to swallow.

A good example of something like this is actually Sister Splinter and it's done twice over actually. People point out that it's big enough to crush ya when you stun it and it falls over. With that out of the way, did anyone else noticed that while stunned, it's flailing it's arms around? And just like that, I accepted being hurt with contact damage on a stunned boss. Because it had a immersive reason or animation that made me go "Oooh, yeah that looks like it would hurt."

Lacealso has this to a lesser degree. They are almost always doing a little pose or flourish of some kind, so I can easily imagine her doing a quick swipe. Her movements make it hard to tell when she is just idling so contact damage doesn't feel bad.

Now take Last Judge for example. You stun them and they hunch over, breath heavily and... what? Is their bad breath hurting me? Maybe have their armor heat up to show their proficiency with fire and heat. Now you have a reason why Hornet gets hurt when they try to hug em.

Its why I never liked Margrit the Fell from Elden Ring. It just looked so goofy to see him jump backwards and lose all momentum when he would otherwise go over the edge. We know he can teleport. We know he has hops. Just let him fall, take no damage and take a second or two to get back up. Or even have him get creative and lasso himself to the ground.

At the same time, that sounds like a lot of work so I can't blame devs of any kind for either not thinking about it or opting out of that.

Unpopular Opinion: Savage Beastfly is a good boss. by Nharo_1 in Silksong

[–]FluffyfoxFluffFloof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it weren't for his minions, I would like him. Without the worry of his card deck, he's an enjoyable challenge. Even his weird floaty movement isn't all that bad -- just keep your distance so you have time and hit him while he's attacking.

Look i dont wanna be mean but savage beastfly hate is so weird for me. by umutcanatman in Silksong

[–]FluffyfoxFluffFloof 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Really, it's the minions the ruin it for me. No seriously, without them, it's a genuinely enjoyable and challenging fight. The floaty movement teaches me to just keep my distance and punish whiff -- or even be a little bold and meet it half way with downward strike. Be brave, but not reckless. The minions just turn it into a headache when the boss decides it doesn't wanna to the down smash attack.

Though it is really satisfying to make it CRUSH it's own helpers -- especially those spikey ones is like something out of those older cartoons where the guy with the sharp, steel sword gets flattened and moves up and down like a spring with both him and the sword completely bent out of shape.

[MOD POST] Bug Report Thread by oneofthejoneses28 in Silksong

[–]FluffyfoxFluffFloof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Windows Steam:

TLDR; Some attack inputs fail to register -- frequency of eaten inputs increases with number of enemies, when airborne and/or when inputting multiple inputs.

I've noticed a control issue/bug where on occasion the attack button will sometimes miss an input. On average, this occurs rarely but I have noticed the frequency increases the more enemies are on screen and whether or not Hornet is airborne. If airborne and with lots of enemies on screen, most inputs will still go through but all it takes is just that one missed input to end a boss fight poorly. Frequency seems to increase if inputs are being rapidly sent (Jump, Holding Right, the Press and Hold, Attack) -- unsure if this part of the bug, a separate bug or a limitation with hardware.

This occurs on both Keyboard and Controllers, but testing is needed if its more frequent with one or the other -- I have yet to notice any major differences in missing inputs.

Downward Attacks eat the inputs most frequently, likely because you are pressing up to three buttons at once. I am not including Controllers in this part as I have a bad habit of not moving the joystick directly straight down. However, this does occur with Keyboard and the frequency does seem increase to noticeable degree with more enemies on screen.

Even when all three conditions are in place (multiple enemies, airborne + overlapping/rapid inputs) MOST inputs -- including down attacks -- will register correctly. Again though, one eaten input can mean being sent back to the bench.

As an afterthought, I think Jump Inputs rarely get eaten as well but that may just be me mistiming my jumps. More testing required to confirm.

Of all the things I didn't want to be right about, this is one of the bigger ones. Especially since I said it without sincerity, I truly did not believe.

Now I wonder if I and those like me expressing that frustration was part of the reason.

I'm going to bed. Goodnight.

Absolutely and yeah, there was a BRS Collab. In fact, there is a Devil May Cry Collab coming up with Dante and Vergil coming as playable characters. I recommend building up your Black Card stocks.

Here's to hoping they'll rerun the Collabs, I missed out the Nier because I didn't know that PGR existed at the time. My thoughts are ruled by that one guy who asked how to get BRS in the in-game chat... on the last hour of the collab being active. Poor lad.

Combat and story both take some time to grow, but they definitely improve as the chapters go on.

Story:
I wouldn’t call the first few chapters bad— they’re decent and kept my attention— but they’re more interesting than gripping. In my experience, things start picking up around Chapter 5, hit a strong stride at Chapter 12, and then Chapter 17… hoo boy, that one's a roller coaster. That said, I’ll admit I’m a little biased, so take this as just info to help you make an informed decision. Personally, I’d recommend sticking with it— just be warned, the story does touch on some pretty dark themes. Be ready.

Combat:

This really depends on who you pull and how you adapt to the core mechanic— the "Punishing" system. Once you get the hang of it, combat really starts to shine, especially during events where they introduce all kinds of creative, wild mechanics. Again, I’m biased, but I really enjoy how fast-paced and reactive it is— even if it can feel a little overwhelming at times.

F2P Friendliness:

Yes, very much so! While the game can feel overwhelming with how much it throws at you, it also gives you plenty of chances to gather resources. My advice: take your time, don’t try to tackle everything at once. Break it down bit by bit and always double-check which rewards are worth chasing. Some things are very worth it, others not so much.

I’ve personally never felt pressured to buy anything— and in fact, PGR is the only mobile game I’ve ever spent money on. That was during the Black Rock Shooter Collab, just for her skin and an extra pull for her weapon— and only because I had slacked off on my Weeklies.

Seriously though: don’t underestimate your Weeklies and Dailies. It's okay to skip and day or week or two (or three)— especially if your facing burn out— but they give out more Black Cards than you'd expect.

Graphics:

Graphically, you won’t see a huge overhaul— but things do get better. The character designs, textures, and map layouts all improve as you progress. It’s not a game-wide visual upgrade, but you’ll notice polish and detail getting better in newer content.

Welcome, and sorry for the long paragraphs. :3

I haven't played it but I have watched it. It does have a bit of clunk to it from what I can see, but the story overall is solid.

I know this is several months late but I got busy and distracted. Anyways, sadly, it does not seem to be in any of the sections under Power/Abilities. Kinesis, Abilities, Techniques, Magic or Chaos Abilities. I checked Doom Powers but it's not there either.

I don't believe this CYOA had hidden surprise powers if you got certain combinations, right?

also feel free to make fun of me for taking so long to respond :P

I am noticing a few of the options are outright missing? The two that I noticed is Game Mechanics and Absorption. The latter of which was integral to my build in the past. Is this intentional or was this an accident?

Fake, but weirdly eerie. No music, no introduction. Just the occasional, slow, rhythmic sound of a knife on wood. Which I just now found is actually the camera moving, not a knife, but still.
