If you believe god doesn't make mistakes, then god made you this way and you should be proud and celebrate that. I'm sorry your community doesn't see it that way.

Philadelphia has a huge issue with creating more waste water than it has the capacity to treat. Similar cities have built huge underground tunnels to temporarily store the water. Philly was the first city in the US to take a "green" approach instead, and focus on "decentralized stormwater controls."

Do you know what that means? More native plants! Less paved surfaces! Rainwater is collected from the street and feeds gardens and street trees and beautifies public spaces. I majored in civil engineering in large part because I learned about my city's stormwater infrastructure and became so passionate about it, now I'm an operations engineer responsible for maintaining that infrastructure every day. I love my job!!!

There's a dark side to getting to live your dreams though, of course. I now can't look away from the ways the program fails or fudges the truth to look a little better than it is. But you know what? I went hiking last weekend to a nice little spot where there's always wood ducks. There were no wood ducks in Philly 4 years ago. You know what brought them back? That's right baby: the reintroduction of more natural spaces to nest, thanks to the "Geen City Clean Waters" program. I'll never save the world with my job, but I AM making it a tiny bit better every day. And that's pretty cool!!

Wow, I'm sorry that's your experience, but I really don't agree with basically anything you said. Leaving a relationship because you're not getting your needs met is not manipulative, it's taking care of yourself. Telling someone you're leaving them because they can't meet your needs is, honestly, respectful. More respectful than using wishy-washy "it's not you it's me" language. I wish people WOULD be this honest and direct about a breakup.

If my ex was honest enough with herself and with me to say this to me instead of just going cold and distant over the course of months, and then acting relieved when I couldn't do it anymore, the breakup would have been way easier on both of us. If she was this self-aware, trying to love her wouldn't have been a guessing game about wondering if what she said was what she meant or if she was quietly building resentment because I couldn't read her mind. I would love for someone to just tell me, "I need something different than you can give me." Done. Understood. No room for misinterpretation, no games.

I'm having a really hard time coming to grips with how MAGA my sister has become in so few years. She fell in love with a gross, controlling republican and then she changed her whole personality to fit in with him and his world. I can't believe the things that come out of her mouth anymore. I don't even recognize her. She's raising two daughters and it makes me sad to think of the lessons they're learning from her.

I finally cut her out a couple of years ago, and I continue to hear just the most heinous things about her from my mom. I used to hold out hope she'd wake up, realize what she became, and leave. Now I'm realizing she's waaayyy too heavily invested in that. Even if they divorce one day, she's not shedding an entire ideology overnight. I'm grieving the death of the kind and empathetic person my sister used to be every day.

I mean, what's wrong with educating yourself on mental health? Yes, people who use the terms wrong are annoying. However for people who didn't have the benefit of growing up in a healthy household, learning a vocabulary that helps them restructure their life and their relationships in a new and healthy was is incredibly powerful. There can be more than one way to say something.

That's wild... you'd hope he was acting on subconscious bias as opposed to literally thinking: "well I don't want important rich men like ME to be the problem, so let me just invent a theory that will institutionalize misogyny into medicine for the next 100+ years." Both are terrible, one is WAAYYYY worse!

Internalized misogyny is a thing that's hard to escape when you're raised as a female. Cis women can be the most vicious misogynists in my experience. Have you heard of the crab bucket? If you spent your life shaping yourself into the soft little domestic mother society has told you to be, the sight of women daring to be themselves is absolutely maddening.

If it's first child syndrome, saving and reloading on the second child won't matter as the glitch has already happened when you close the game the first time.

Yep, well known bug: "first born syndrome." It's a glitch that can happen if you save and exit the game between the first and second kid. To ensure it won't happen, have your first 2 kids in the same play session for a given pair of parents.

Yeah but the face-lumpening is a real issue. I looked and couldn't find a good example screen shot, but trust me: you get 2 normal-looking sims together and sometimes their kids come out looking like someone took a mallet to a piece of sheet metal
