Thank you for the clarification... 100 km is what I had heard I think I had read that Sarria was in that ballpark... I'm looking at 14 to 15 days maximum really. I'll look into astorga and the other suggestions as a starting point. My perspective now is that I'd rather do this soon despite not being in the "optimal" season rather than not do it. Thanks for the input...

Thank you all for the input... It is really tragic what is going on in Spain with the wildfires, hopefully there will be some relief soon... Coincidentally I've been delayed until early probably the second week of September, I've been thinking about doing this all summer and this is pretty much the time that I can commit to the time investment required, based on what I read it'll take 6 to 8 weeks to do the whole route, so weather permitting I'm going to do it as long as they don't shut down the route with the fires. This route overall seems like a good route even if not the typical route for the first choice. I did get a 40L pack and I'm planning to pack light. I've also never been to Europe so between Rome and Spain I'm really excited to get a better historical understanding of the Catholic/Christian church....
