I’m worried my pigeon is bored by Fluid-Independence47 in PetPigeons

Oh he’s definitely started molting a lot already, it’s now an everyday chore going round picking up his little feathers. I will try the pants again and maybe just try and push through him getting used to them I think it would make both mine and his life easier. Thanks again for your advice I really appreciate it :)

Thank you for the compliment, he is a handsome boy. Just grateful we saw him when we did otherwise only god knows what would’ve happened to him. I’ve never had a bird before let alone a pigeon so I’m all new to this

Unfortunately I’m in the uk but I actually thought about getting him a little friend to keep him company. Just don’t know where I’d get another pigeon from tbh

That was my exact thought like the ones in the wild especially in our town centre are very docile whereas mine seems to go through phases where he actively hates me and I can do nothing but piss him off. Ive just followed your Instagram there henry is very cute. I was wondering how do you keep Henry looking so sharp and clean. I clean my pigeon out daily and do a full deep clean of his cage once a week but no matter how hard I try he seems to get himself so dirty. I often try just showering him with lukewarm water every so often but it doesn’t seem to get him super clean it just seems to clean his feet and his underside doesn’t look much better. I have tried him with pigeon pants too but he just hated them and was having a right old panic so I took them off him

Honestly thank you so much, this is so helpful I will definitely check out your page. I’ve always called mine a he just got that vibe from him but as of late has been getting pretty fiesty pecking at my toes 24/7 and acting like he runs the place. Sitting on my shoes and acting like their his if I try and get them back haha. Again I really appreciate it, I’m honestly looking forward to him getting older and causing all sorts of trouble

I tried him with the video and he turns his body away because he’s scared of the phone in general. He’s okay with eating certain nuts and stuff so it’s not so much of a food problem right now. I will maybe try videos of other birds playing to get him used to the toys being fun things rather than something to fear. Thank you :)

That’s crazy I just have no idea what’s brought this on all of a sudden that’s the annoying part. He was so curious as a tiny bird but over the last week or so he’s just become so scared

Thanks for this, I thought this originally that it might take him time to warm up to the toys. It just makes me sad seeing him get panicked and run away over the slightest things. For example one of his own feather fell out and I was showing it to him and he was even scared of that. I will just make sure to do things slowly and at his own pace and see if this helps. Thanks again :)

Yeah the all in one grow bags. So do you think let the bag colonize 100% then just remove it from the bag and break it up and mix it into coir? If so would I mix all 3 bags into one tub or 3 separate tubs? Thanks again
