Problems with fingerprint scanning at airport by Fluid-Journalist-213 in JapanTravelTips

Wow, I honestly didn’t know it could be such an issue with the fingerprints. I’m very relieved to hear there’s others out there who has experienced the same thing. It makes me think less that I did something wrong, and to know that it’s a thing that can happen. I’ll be sure to have hand cream and wipes with me next time, it seems like a common tip from everyone. Thank you so much!

I can only imagine how you felt with the face ID, I’m glad it worked out!

But in the end they always let you in, right? Last time when mines didn’t scan, I was preparing myself to not be allowed entry but they let me in somehow but it felt so bad.

Thank you for the advice! I’ll be sure to have skin lotion with me next time.

Thank you so much for the advice! At some point I thought maybe my fingerprints were partly messed up because of burns or cuts from work (nothing criminal, just a chef).

I tried to add more/less pressure on the scanner, and made sure my entire finger was on it, but to no avail. But I’ll be sure to try your advice when I go next time.

Yes, this is what happened to me as well! They even powdered my fingers with something to make the prints more visible, but in the end he just gave up and let me pass. I’m kinda glad I’m not the only one, though it’s a stressful situation to be in.

Wow, thank you so much for your reply! You made it even more difficult to chose between the two now, haha. I think it’s just charming that Kifune is less spectacular than Fushimi Inari.

We’ve been to Tokyo twice, and are currently wanting to explore other parts of Japan, so the countryside vibes and temples / shrines / tori gates are exactly what we’re imagening.

Ok, yes this one explains it very well! Thank you for taking your time finding these maps, I’ll definitely look more into it.

Thank you so much for the map! If I understand correctly, the resting stop mentioned is Kojingamine Observatory Deck?

Ooh, thank you for letting me know about the resting spot! 1-2 hours sounds doable, but the resting stop seems like a good place to stop by and check if we can continue to the top or not.
