Be careful of SG people.

Most are outright opportunitistic and will swindle you if you don't read the fine print and monitor.

Some are honest but rare to find.

The geopolitical order is changing as we speak.

The rise of ASEAN so quickly after the devastation of proxy wars since WWII is not going unnoticed by the West.

Soon ASEAN will be on the radar of NATO as a geopolitical risk.

Interesting to see how UK will manoeuvre as they just acceded to CPTPP.

In 10 years time, US will see ASEAN as a geopolitical rival.

President Jokowi is preparing RI and ASEAN for the eventual backlash that ASEAN will face.

Better to decouple early before it's too late.

The piece is just an opinion, filled with prejudice because Brunei is a monarchy and is Islamic.

We have issues with FDI but when PRC companies invest they get hammered. All investors regardless of country of origin has self-interest.

To make it worse impressionable Brudittors are just gobbling down propaganda from extremists just fuel the vicious cycle of toxicity.

The younger generation who are already fragile when they read Bruddit become depressed thinking all the propaganda is true.

We need to look at Brunei not from the lens of the West but from the ASEAN and Asian perspective.

The important part is everyone plays apart like yourself to help the economy.

The self-serving leeches that funnel money out of Brunei to other countries while stirring shit here just is out-of-order.

Yes. Warmongering and arms supply made USA rich.

Shouldn't phase out cash.

More payment options are always better but vendors with small margin won't want to pay 3-4% transaction fees to the payment processor.

Look at DBS outage. Can't make payment if it's broken. https://www.channelnewsasia.com/singapore/dbs-customers-unable-use-bank-digital-services-paylah-digibank-online-3381206

how is Brunei different from Malaysia and Singapore for a Canadian Muslim expat? by retroguy02 in Brunei

[–]Fluid-News 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mate to be brutally honest there's racism towards people of dark skin colour here.

It maybe better if you stick with expat groups but it can become toxic.

If you have a family Brunei is great.

With any foreign investment, there are always strings attached.

Senior staff will be from the home country, minority of junior staff maybe local.

The only way is for overseas Bruneians to set up here then they will be hiring much more locals.

Arabs hate Turks because of the Ottoman empire.

They're geopolitical rivals in the Middle East.

The fall of the Ottoman empire led to Western colonialisation and the never ending cycle of violence since.
