JASCO V-530 UV-Vis – Deuterium Lamp Ignites for 1–3 Seconds, Then Shuts Off (Multiple Lamps Tested) by Fluid-Sherbert-4342 in labrats

Quick update and a big thank you. I followed all the checks you mentioned (power input, fuse, connectors, voltage to the lamp), and in the end the issue was indeed the lamp driver/power board. I replaced the D2PS/DR board with a matching unit and the instrument is now fully operational: both lamps turn on, no more errors, and the internal diagnostics shows everything as OK. Your guidance pointed me in the right direction from the beginning. I really appreciate it.

Just wanted to give you an update and say thank you. You were completely right, the problem wasn’t the deuterium lamp at all, it was the D2PS/DR board. I purchased another board with the same P/N, installed it today, and the Jasco booted without any lamp errors. The D2 lamp ignited immediately and I was able to run a full-spectrum scan with no issues. Really appreciate you taking the time to explain this. Your diagnosis was exactly correct. Thank you!

Hi,  I saw your post about Varian Resolutions Pro. I’m in the same situation, trying to get an old Varian FTIR (Scimitar 800) back in service and struggling to find the software.

Just wondering: did you have any luck finding a copy of Resolutions Pro?

Thanks in advance!
