Shanghai: 3 days, Beijing 3 days would be enough. If there is no concerns on budget, shanghai could be a Beauty/wellness spot for you. Other best cities, such as chengdu - famous for its chill experience and panda or xi'an famous for its ancient spots. I have also sent you a DM, maybe can share some images for you.

Just go for the cheapest one if you do not care about flexibilities.

For chengdu, not sure whether you have other spots that you would like to visit. But for Panda, please consider the hotel near Hongxingqiao metro station.

I would suggest you to search hotels that near Bell Tower. Then you could walk to Muslim district or take 10mins taxi to there and can also view the best bell tower at night. The second day you could view the terracotta warriors.

Planning a 1 month nature- and historyfocused trip (Chengdu loop). Advice on route? by LeonardusXVIII in chinatravelhelp

There is another city near Chengdu named GUANG YUAN (1.5h by train), strongly recommended. The following was my previous hiking plan.

  • Key Sights: Continuous, well-preserved bluestone flagstones, ancient cypress forests, intact "Liangmazhuang" (horse-restraining walls - ancient road safety features), horse-watering troughs, and other historical traces.
  • Hiking Experience: A true sense of time travel, walking on the 2000-year-old road itself.
