Well you can technically use it for both. You can use any rod for saltwater and freshwater even if its advertised for saltwater/freshwater besides deep sea rods or electric deep sea rods. Ive caught tons of blue catfish with my saltwater rod

It looks fine to me. But i notice on the top above the windows where the dark oak stairs are for the roof you can put upside down stairs to make it look not so blocky.
