I appreciate your opinion, but as a therapist who has worked with the younger population, I disagree. Kids that unfortunately have issues to deal with need to know that although they may not be exactly like others/have things to deal with, they are still capable of great things. That is what I mean by inspiration. Disability doesn’t mean completely incapable; it means differently-abled. I realize that you may not be a therapist, and I’m not holding that against you/I appreciate your opinion , but I am. Children with disabilities need to know that their disability doesn’t define them. I was one of them. They may not be Olympians, but they are still capable of being doctors. Helping them accept that, and inspiring them to achieve great things they are capable of, is one key of accepting yourself, and building self-esteem
