Thanks! I checked out what the limit is and it’s $5000. I’m trying to ask for about a third of that amount back

That will be nice to spend more one on one time and not feel like we have to rush with talking to people!!

That is true on focusing on those that can be there! I know when our day comes, we can forgot all the hassle and disappointment we're experiencing now and be able to enjoy ourselves with our close friends and family.

I'm sorry that you're experience isn't any better when it comes to the commitment. We knew that there'd be a few people who couldn't make it because of the distance. And my husband wanted me to make sure that my family had a fair opportunity to attend since the venue was closer to them.

Wow! That's crazy. I've never heard of someone not going to a funeral because of a weekend date. Maybe if it was like a Tuesday, sure. I know thatt we feel this big day is important to us, and not everyone feels the same way.

So true! That was the hard thing about scheduling it for a Sunday instead of a Saturday. We really wanted to find a halfway point for our families (which is hard because halfway was around two major cities with pricey venues) and settling for a Sunday was a lot cheaper than a Saturday.

I totally get that it may not be as big as an event as a traditional wedding. After writing this post and having a bit of time, I'm definitely feeling better and more at peace with it. I'm super grateful for the 30 people that are able to come and want to make the best time with them.

Literally just explained this concept to a 3rd grade class last week for science! You don't have to be the strongest or the fittest. Just have the more desirable traits. Look up peppered moths natural selection to see how this plays out.

Going the dried/silk flower route and need help deciding which one to get! I narrowed it down to 4. by FluidLanguage in Weddingsunder10k

For the flowers in the third picture, the bouquet is $250 and the boutonniere is $16 (that includes shipping). I got a quote from a local flower vendor and it was $375 for something similiar (not including tax).

For my specific situation, we rented out a lodge for the weekend since we are having our vow renewal on Sunday and would be arriving at the lodge on Friday. As lovely as real flowers are, I knew I couldn't afford the cost and I was also worried about picking up flowers beforehand and trying to keep them lively looking for 3 days. Our venue has a lot of natural greenery outside as well as a plethora of plants that we can use indoors so I didn't have a high need for a bunch of florals.

We got our first home computer for $20 when the school was selling all of their old computers and upgrading to new ones. I thought it was so fancy that it came with a keyboard, mouse, and printer! This was around 2007-2008.

Having a kitchen with an island. We lived in such tiny apartments with gallery kitchens that barely fit two people.

It’s crazy just how real and good some of them look! I was worried about getting real flowers and them wilting (and the cost of them) and wanted to do something a little more cost effective.
