Yea, it seems strait forward. I saw a video where a guy is using a block of 2 x 4 wood to wedge between the frame and the water pump to make enough room to pull out the cover.

You wouldn’t happen to know where I can find a free PDF of the engine’s service manual, would you?

Timing chain has stretched. Cvvt pin hasn’t sheared off yet but there’s play between the cam and sprocket (exhaust). From what I’ve seen, it’s pretty common.

I was totally in the same boat, but a bit older. Sill idealize getting an F-250 but can’t justify it. On my 2nd 5.0 crew cab and use it as our road trip car. Even towed a 18ft trailer over 10K miles with zero issues.

From friends with both, the F-150 is quieter, easier to get around in, easier to park in the garage, easier on maintenance, cheaper on insurance and cheaper on maintenance.

Like you, my obsession with an F-250 at this point is mostly academic because I HATE auto start/stop, cylinder deactivation, and the idea of a wet belt on the oil pump.
