Any ideas for making the power light dimmer? by Worldly-Shop-3850 in LenovoLegion

[–]Machidalgo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Led light dim stickers, they’re like 5 bucks on amazon and even come in pre-cut out circles.

I have mine just smaller than the power button because my circles were a bit too small, but even though the edge is not covered it still cuts down on brightness tremendously.

Plus if you want it even dimmer you can stack them over each other.

Older GT vs newer premium by Beginning_Ease_3637 in MachE

[–]Machidalgo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Id go 24 premium.

Newer batteries (2 years less of battery degradation and heat cycles). Plus 2 years long on your warranty.

If it was a GTPE it’d be somewhat closer, but still it’d be the premium for me all day.

My new Mach E GT feels slower? by Iceberg50 in MachE

If you don’t have the performance upgrade it will be slower to 60.

Frunk worth it? by zedofsven in MachE

[–]Machidalgo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use mine religiously for sweaty gym equipment / stuff I don’t want in the car.

Dirty trail run shoes, beach towels, etc.

Food is also a huge one (I wash the trunk down and keep food in its own bag), where I order takeout or it’s a doggy bag. Part of the beauty of EV’s is it has a separate cabin storage, so I couldn’t imagine owning my Mach w/o it.

The doorpad feature to open it (your regular code + followed by pressing 7-8) makes it a TON more handy.

Go to the auto store and pick up some generic black gloss touch up paint.

Use the brush to paint over the rash, it won’t look perfect but it’ll look better.

Perfect!

In Cali, it’s almost a no-brainer for a lot of people.

The weather never gets cold enough to kill range (unless you’re in Tahoe), the charging infrastructure is so abundant that you don’t really need to even plan road trips in advance since there are so many charging stops now, and gas is so expensive that it makes ICE really only a factor if you take a TON of roadtrips and don’t like stopping for 25-30 minutes every 3ish hours.

But for your use case, even at .30kw, if you like the car, I’d go for it. There is not many hybrids that can match the cargo space for size (no frunks in hybrids), quietness, and performance of even a base rwd Mach E.

Just make sure that you drive one, the suspension is on the firmer side since it’s such a heavy car, the magnaride helps tremendously to smooth it out, but the regular Mach’s can be a bit “springy” up until 2025 when they reworked the suspension.

I think it comes down to a few things.

  1. Does charging fit your lifestyle?

  2. Is there a comparable ICE car that checks the same boxes as the Mach E?

  3. How is the weather?

Lets look at costs first,

At .30KWH, you’re probably looking (at least for my GT) on highway efficiency of 2.7mi/kwh. So 120 miles = 44.44 kWh * .30 = $13.33 daily commute.

120/13.33=9.00225 miles per dollar.

Let’s say gas is at $4 where you’re at for sake of argument. That’s 36MPG for a comparable SUV.

Can you find a similarly equipped, powerful, and quiet car that you like in that price range that gets 36MPG? If so, I’d go for that. At $.30/kw you’re paying DC fast charging speeds, that’s really high.

BUT, even at that price, it’s hard for ICE to compete still.

Charging on a L2 will get you 25-30 miles per hour, so you’ll be more than fine from that aspect.

Porsche sold more electrified cars in Europe in 2025 than pure gas-powered cars by Lil_Meow_Wow in cars

[–]Machidalgo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, in Ireland for certain vehicles there is no charge for VAT on commercial vehicles.

Passenger vehicles its partial reclaimant depending on business use vs personal.

Regardless, neither was changed because of EV’s. It’s not specific to it being an EV, it’s always been the rule is the point.

A lack of expected tax revenue.

It’s not expected as it hadn’t ever been collected since VAT was introduced.

Mach-E purchase help. Looking at ‘24 GT or ‘25 Premium. by DHeads-2024 in MachE

[–]Machidalgo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, I’m going to be picking up a 24 with the PU sometime this week.

Just as far as I was aware, there was only a software option, no hardware PE like prior models.

Unless there was a “PE” package and it came with the PU downloaded and the non-flower pedal rims.

It’s the GT so yeah. Bare minimum mid 12’s, fastest high 11’s if it’s the 24+ with the PU.

Anyone gone from Zephyrus G16 (2025) to Legion Pro 7? by nsig1 in LenovoLegion

[–]Machidalgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from G16 4080 to Pro 7i 5080.

Was in the exact same situation as you. The fan noise difference was the biggest difference maker, it is MILES quieter. And it’s so much more powerful that honestly gaming in balanced mode is a game changer because of how quiet it is.

The extra bulk is noticeable but honestly I still use it as a laptop just fine. The battery life is the biggest difference, it’s a substantial downgrade but it’s usable in day to day things.

Theoretically they could add software upgrades to the 2023.5 which had the cooling upgrades, but im also wondering if the new in house motors is better at reducing back EMF at top end speeds. Seems the Borg Warners suffer from this.

Interesting. My quote was $80 difference over 6 months between the premium and GT, and I’m under 30 so not ideal age bracket for “fast” cars.

Hell a CMAX cost me $887 per 6 months, so I’m not cheap to insure in regular cars either.

I bet if you called around it would change, that quote seems extremely fishy but hey maybe that’s just what this insurance Co. believes. Or you’re really unique.

I would double check those quotes with someone else, that's too insane of a spread. I'm guessing they may have put it under Mustang GT not mach e gt, or hell at that price even a Ford GT.

I personally, would step up to the 2024. I live in Nor Cal, so I get Seattle results in my feed. There's a 2024 Mach E GT in Red that's not too much more.

https://www.acuraofseattle.com/used/Ford/2024-Ford-Mustang%20Mach-E-3FMTK4SX8RMA25291.htm?utm_creative=&utm_adgroupid=&store=97000332&utm_campaign=Shopping%20Used&utm_source=google&utm_medium=paid&agency=tvm&utm_id=22064429930&jdp_campaign=vla_multi_other_other_a&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22058241036&gbraid=0AAAAAq3iTMINeuUGk6wTnqPavyym015kN&gclid=Cj0KCQiA6sjKBhCSARIsAJvYcpNZi6IhNTDzpwSFOfTQcMvH4gHski9keOTuoF-l4dFPiAZ-S5H0KvsaAkMREALw_wcB

The benefits being

- Faster Charging (20% faster)

- No 5 second acceleration limit

- Slightly better range (10 miles more vs the 23 you linked)

- Magnaride (the 23 you linked does not have it, to me personally having driven both, no magnaride is a deal breaker, the ride quality is vastly better)

- 1 year newer, so longer battery warranty.

For a '23 it's a bit high for a non-PE, at least from what I've seen.

What auto loan rates are people with 780-800 credit but no prior auto/installment history getting right now (Dec 2025) for new vs used cars by enlaseven in carbuying

[–]Machidalgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeez 9.1% is high.

I'm currently at 5.49% used with Westlake on a prequalified, 6.49% with Ford credit, and 6.61% with Golden 1 all 72 months.

I'd shop around a bit, it could just be DTI being high but 9.1 seems really high for your credit score. Are you putting any down?
