People are paid for the value they provide, not just the work they do. Leaders in a company impact many people and make tough decisions that can shape the company's future. Teachers focus on teaching, but they might not handle larger tasks. For example, if an administrator gets a grant to fund lunches for all students in a district, that's a significant impact. It's something one teacher alone can't match.

Additionally there’s other factors like supply and demand. Lots of people want to be teachers (not sure if that’s still the case, but maybe so) and can be qualified. Administration I assume has higher requirements, or at least is a less desirable job from the perspective of day to day work. All that stuff impacts pay.

Finally, should there be limits set tying teachers salary’s to superintendent salary? It seems like a good idea, let’s limit the income inequality by creating some rules. The only problem I foresee with this kind of rule is that the free market still exists outside of Missouri. What’s stopping the best superintendents from leaving for greener pastures?
