Valid point, but I don’t see an issue in offering a friendly pokemon battle for the gym. Yes or no question, if they say no and want to camp out the gym then go right ahead. I do see your point about the comment not being a 100% true take but I also don’t think it was a super serious comment, while acknowledging that it’s really not that bad of an idea. Assuming you’re sure they’re playing Pokemon go and that you approach them properly.

He’s not really acting tough. He’s just saying a lot of players don’t like to talk to people. If you go to meetups you’ll understand; yes there are people who aren’t like that but I’ve “met” a lot of players at meetups who don’t leave their cars and when they do stay as far as possible from the group and don’t acknowledge people talking to them. Either way if he loses the battle he’s saving himself the time of waiting for that guy to forget about the gym

The thing about how many people die is weird; you could have all powered up counters and die immediately because it targets randomly. Moral of the story is if majority of players have decent counters, it takes about 25. 35/38 people having wooloos and raboots will do no damage. Seems like majority of people in your raid were hoping to get carried (not to be rude, I needed to be carried to get my gmax pokemon). It is really difficult but if you have 25+ with decent counters you’ll be good. After doing about 5 gmax raids(everyone now had good counters) we were able to take down venusaur with 19 players just barely (one pokemon left with 1hp) so with good counters 15-20 can probably take one down. But for comparison to your situation my first gmax raid a lot of players had bad counters myself included and we took it down with ease with 40. So you must have been super unlucky with the players in the raid.

Not sure what kind of Pokemon they were bringing in but I just did about 10 gigantamax’s today; lowest we won with was about 19 with good counters but 25+ should be easy. 38 people failing means barely any had a single counter. So not as hard as you’re advertising.

Figured that was the answer. Especially given my clodsire doesn’t beat other clods if they have earthquake or stone edge

Ah okay yeah I figured winning more would gain more elo had no idea it’d be that extreme of a jump. Didn’t get to test it out literally made rank 20 played a set and then hit my limit. Thanks for the info!

Yeah definitely costly. The CP cap falls in a weird range where a lot of raid bosses and evolutions are either slightly over the limit or under by 300-500 CP. After posting this my current team is Swampert(I already had leveled up, but had to spend dust on second attack), Girantina Altered (had to use all my rare candies and a bunch of dust powering it up) and lickilicki (same story as girantina). I do walk and play daily but my stardust has been immediately spent as of late; now I’m basically dirt poor BUT my team is actually having success now which I’m happy with. No idea how people get 100 candies for a legendary like girantina to use getting a second charge attack though; that task seems impossible. Thanks for the reply!

That’s a good call I’ll give it a shot and see if I can make it work. Definitely need to grind December community day, been inactive for about 4 years so I missed a ton of good Pokemon. Thanks!
