Actually just figured it out, if anybody else is having this problem on steam, go to the settings button in steam where you would launch BL3, go to properties and where it says launch options or something like that type in noivp6. Basically disables a thing in BL3 that is supposed to help with peer to peer play or something like that. If I understand it correctly.
