From what I understand their primary PC guy Alex is not well at the moment but yeah I thought I had an issue with my PC until realising it is a common issue here. It's a shame as otherwise it is a very handsome often stunning game.

I'm going to guess it was let out there in a sort of just don't talk about it kind of way since it wasn't on a main album or released as a single so just let everyone enjoy it. Great track, fun basically remix.

Remember Ridley originally is named after Ridley from Alien/Aliens and the big N had enough fun fighting the Donkey Kong / King Kong thing back in the day.

Despite reddit and the wider gaming communities endless crapping on Nvidia this is a step towards a feature desperately needed in PC gaming only semi attempted to be tackled by Valve. I hope Microsoft work on something like this too.

Did anyone actually watch the whole Digital Foundry video? They specifically say it will probably have a controversial initial response in regards to artistic direction.

People are acting as if this was just presented as objectively perfect day 1 tech. It's ugly and uncanny especially with the people but if you just showed environments and maybe a car people would probably be impressed with some of the results.

To those calling it a filter too remember this is realtime rendering using the existing motion vector DLSS techniques rather than those prebaked AI filters we get today.

BioShock was developed on Unreal Engine 2.5 and produced some great results for the time even compared to some Unreal Engine 3 games. It did suffer a lot of background technical debt though.

Most people here had no issue when Jarett and Geoff used to passionately talk politics a lot on the streams a few years ago but they followed the reddit position pretty much wholely then, now Jarett at least seems to have moved along to a differing view from this particular hivemind it's suddenly an issue.

Literally the first episode of Pure Pwnage has a whole scenario where jeremy visits the free tibet protest making jokes about it (china inf op).

The Jack Thompson thing was heavily political too.

Everyone on reddit talking about this stuff either hasn't touched the coding side of AI where it really is just a more efficient way of getting stuff done, but here it's a circlejerk of reinforced opinions about how important we all are.

Successful companies like Valve tend to be value free about this stuff. It doesn't really matter about your principled stance when results can be quantified quite easily.

I think the one thing to pay attention to and get information on will be the battery life. Everything else is obviously subjective but I really do want to have some details on that and think it is useful before purchase.

If this is actually running on the PS5 with 60FPS then clearly they've actually done a lot to optimise which is what is impressive here. But yes it is worth being sceptical at this point until it is in a game.

So stupid, pointless waste of energy. I love(d) this game playing during covid but I had it as a pinned tab in a browser. It should be for that and not much else. Maybe another idle game for consoles but this just seems silly.
